Dave Ramsey recently circulated a list by author Tom Corley on the 20 tasks the rich allegedly perform each and every single day that we poor proletarians fail to grasp. For example: "67% of wealthy watch one hour or less of TV every day vs. 23% of poor."; this explains why the home of every wealthy individual that I enter has multiple 70" flat screens (perhaps watching FAUX or Bloomberg doesn't actually count).
I also won't mention the other things the wealthy do every day that are not on the list, like throwing themselves $2M birthday parties or buying $6K shower curtains.
For more information on the list: http://www.daveramsey.com/blog/20-things-the-rich-do-every-day
For more information on Former TYCO CEO Dennis Kozlowski: http://money.cnn.com/2005/06/17/news/newsmakers/tyco_trialoutcome/
..and for those lurkers saying "Kozlowski is old news", so are half the Zig Ziglar and Earl Nightingale truisms on the habits list.
But I digress. I would rather light a candle than curse the darkness. Perhaps DUers can learn a thing or two from Mr. Corley via Mr. Ramsey. Who knows, we might become wealthy
2. 80% of wealthy are focused on accomplishing some single goal. Only 12% of the poor do this.
We should all focus on a goal. We DUers could all collectively make a goal to do five things between now and November 2014 to help the Democratic party re-take the house. We could send money, phone bank, knock on doors, or put up the odd yard sign and bumper sticker.
I feel wealthier already.
Remember the goal of doing 5 things to help Dems retake the house? OK, write it down somewhere.
You are well on your way to Bill Gates money.
OverDrive audio books are available to download free from many socialist institutions called libraries.
Titles you might consider:

The Future by Al Gore
True Compass by Ted Kennedy
Costs nothing. It's a habit of the wealthy. All good liberal listening.
Would it kill ya' to call your mother on her birthday??
Maybe start going to the local state or county Democratic party meetings? An Occupy protest?
and finally....
STOP WATCHING DUCK DYNASTY, ALREADY!!!
There...you should now be well on your way to wealth.

(10,893 posts)there are a number of questions on there that mention the wealthy (on average) watching TV less than the poor, but it doesn't say anything about watching TV shows or videos online.

(10,000 posts)The money is never made doing something semi-legal or completely illegal.
It never involves becoming wealthy while their workers get minimum wage and no benefits.
Ever notice that?

(28,627 posts)The poor watch TV and are more gullible. Working class areas appear to have more TVs and sit in front of them. I bet more poor watch Fox News than the few?

(10,000 posts)He also says a fairly low proportion of the wealthy gamble...right, that's why they built Wynn, Aria, Bellagio, etc. in Las Vegas.

(22,482 posts)And I find that the happiness and bliss that I can acquire doing this is worth all the money in the world.
And as a matter of fact I grew up very privileged. The perks were great and I did a lot of fun things but my family was still nuts and I have been working on recovering from my childhood all of my adult life. So I know what makes me happy.
The only thing I really want is a partner in life. That has alluded me. (and a lot of it stems from things I was taught in childhood.)
