Rand Paul Suing Over NSA Policies, Senator Tells Fox News

Rand Paul Suing Over NSA Policies, Senator Tells Fox News

WASHINGTON (AP) — Republican Sen. Rand Paul says he is filing a class-action lawsuit against the Obama administration over the data-collection policies of the National Security Agency. And on his website, he's urging Americans to join the lawsuit, in his words, "to stop Barack Obama's NSA from snooping on the American people."

In an interview airing Friday night on Fox News, the Kentucky Republican tells host Sean Hannity that he believes everyone in the U.S. with a cellphone would be eligible to join the class-action suit.

Paul says that people who want to join the suit are telling the government that it can't have access to emails and phone records without permission or without a specific warrant.

Paul says the lead lawyer in the suit is Virginia's former attorney general, Ken Cuccinelli.

correct NSA activities, finding cosponsors, and getting it passed. Wouldn't that be a much more direct way of fixing the problem than filing a lawsuit? Of course, writing laws are sort of his job, and thus isn't a STUNT upon which to GRANDSTAND, like his "don't drone me bro" filibuster. I figure he and Cruz and Rubio are on track to pull a stunt out their asses every 6 months or so until at least 2015. And edit to add: surely he's fighting to pay us all a settlement--everyone with a cell phone in America--out of the US Treasury, right? When do I get my gubmint check, Teabaggers?

There are already a number of lawsuits pending and it will ultimately be decided by the Supreme Court.

Paul wants face time so he can get his supporters excited like teenage girls at a Justin Beiber concert.
