WOOHOO!!!!!...

My daughter got her medicaid card in the mail today! She's been one of those "working poor" who couldn't afford insurance and works for a small mom & pop shop, so they don't provide insurance. She filed on line, took in her documents just before Christmas, got her card today. She's on cloud nine!!! Now she can go have some desperately need medical treatments done.

Oh and THANKS OBAMA!!!!!!

Sorry, but that seems to be the (very significant) downside of Medicaid expansion.

That said, I'm glad people can get the medical care they need now.

between Universal Health coverage and the ACA is that under Universal Health Care, everyone would be contributing to the system, there won't be a concern that young, healthy people could chose to not get insurance, they won't have a choice but to be insured, and that is a good result.

I pay a bundle in the premium for health insurance and then continue paying a bundle in copays and deductibles when I need care.

$10 for X-rays? Sign me up!

Look at your paycheck and ask yourself if you had single-payer with full coverage for the price you currently pay into medicare? Because that's what I believe it would cost, or less.

in addition to a major personal victory

i've owned small businesses and worked for a few small businesses and not being able to provide/access healthcare was always a HUGE issue.

it's time for the rest of the holdout states to expand NOW! looking at you Florida.

The SF giants.. but I have always been an Oakland Raider fan as well. I don't care for the 49ers. They are a football franchise that is moving out of San Francisco to Santa Clara because they "have better fans (read, better money) there than San Francisco." If the Giants felt that way about city fans, I would root for the Dodgers.

She doesn't want to go to the nursing home and now, I am not biting my fingernails because I don't have insurance. I'm covered.....and Mom stays at home.

The first thing I did was call my weirdo Republican sister and let her know. She had nothing to say except that she was happy for me. Guess so. If I get sick, guess who gets to take care of Mom and she is always sooooooo busy working at church. Whatever.

I'm so happy I could spit! Zero cost!
Because of pre-existing conditions, I was quoted insurance premums of $700 per month before Obamacare kicked in.

$0 cost for me, also! Obamacare rocks me socks off. I can hardly believe how really excellent this program is!

but post like this is good to read. Watch local ABC news and of they were reporting still all the negatives.

Local news any positive . . . a few million have been able to get and sign up for Obamacare but that's it.

If you haven't already read it. The media isn't even remotely trying to find the truth on this issue. Investigative journalism is dead.

She lost her job about 1 1/2 years ago and has been scraping by doing freelance and part time work. Nobody wants to hire a 55 year old lady. She had to drop her insurance, it was running $325 a month and she could no longer pay it. We have been helping her so she can make her house payment so she won't lose her home. Anyway, she signed up for ACA in December, but no card and no insurance number. Then about two week ago, she got a kidney infection and has had to go to the doctor twice. The doc wanted to run some tests, but she said she could not pay for them and would have to wait until her insurance was effective. Now she is covered and she can go to doctor and get the treatment she needs. She qualified for a credit and her monthly insurance payment is $50. God Bless Obamacare!
