Want to know what happens when you screw up people's basic comforts such as driving & heating homes?

Google NYC Mayor John Lindsay and Chicago Mayor Michael Bilandic.

They both handled huge snowstorms miserably. While there are limits to what can actually be done in extreme weather conditions, you better move heaven and earth to do everything you can. In addition, you better shape and stay ahead of the narrative. If you are tagged with an incompetent label, it can hurt.

Lindsay's administration was nearly brought down by the way he handled a snowstorm. Bilandic lost an election and providing basic services when a snowstorm hit was part of the problem.

Chris Christie is now trapped in a much more serious form of these kinds of problems. The people in his state were greatly inconvenienced for days because bridges were closed. Those annoyed weren't only Democrats.

There was no major weather problem or huge problem with the bridges that could be used to justify it. He and his minions caused it by themselves as a political vendetta.

Commuting is a fact of life and it's grinding. I don't think he can escape the added hell he caused a lot of people. The Dems should let him hang himself. They should keep the waters stirred from the background. However, letting Christie and his temper make an even bigger mess by himself will be priceless.

The Dems should not let this die but they need to be careful. In addition, none of them should offer him any help in any form.

is said to have won against Gov McNichols is because of how miserably he (McNichols) handled a snowstorm back in the '80's.

I get it, but I can't say those who voted for him, including all those elected Democrats who endorsed him are much better than Chris. 'If he opposes the basic rights of others I can accept that, but delay my commute and I want revenge'.

However, it's been proven over and over. Screw with the basic every day lives of people, and you will pay the price. It crosses party lines and other alliances.
If this stops Christie's bandwagon, good!
