Christie's Statement Parsed: Six Lies, One Truth, Two Indeterminables. Your mileage may vary.

>>>“What I've seen today for the first time is unacceptable," Christie said. "I am outraged and deeply saddened to learn that not only was I misled by a member of my staff, but this completely inappropriate and unsanctioned conduct was made without my knowledge. One thing is clear: this type of behavior is unacceptable and I will not tolerate it because the people of New Jersey deserve better. This behavior is not representative of me or my Administration in any way, and people will be held responsible for their actions.” >>>

1. “What I've seen today for the first time is unacceptable," ---- I got to call this one : "LIE"; he's NEVER seen this before? Wasn't he a federal prosecutor?

2. "I am outraged and deeply saddened" ---- Instinct tells me he's ALWAYS outraged; but that's a dispositional thing. And being "outraged" helps him feel strong; but in the context we're talking about, it's a LIE.

3. " to learn that not only was I misled by a member of my staff," ---- This could be true, but probably isn't. PASS.

4. "but this completely inappropriate and unsanctioned conduct was made without my knowledge." --- Unlikely as hell, but no smoking gun so far. Plausible deniability. Fuck it: I say "LIE."

5. " One thing is clear: this type of behavior is unacceptable" ---- "Unacceptable" to whom? Christie? The boys did it BECAUSE they thought it would please the boss. LIE. ( Big one!)

6. "and I will not tolerate it"..... He DID tolerate it. It remains to be seen if he will tolerate it in the future. (Might be technically true. *Technically* ) PASS
Technically

7. " the people of New Jersey deserve better." ---- The DEM candidate for Gov was saying this a couple of MOS. ago. TRUE ( Though sometimes I wonder.)

8. "This behavior is not representative of me or my Administration in any way," ---- Tee Hee. That's a good one. The story has legs precisely BECAUSE it is representative.

Always close w. a whopper, Christopher!. LIE

9. " and people will be held responsible for their actions.” --- Not if CC can help it. And not if they can implicate a certain higher-up. LIE

#8's the one that gets me:

"8. "This behavior is not representative of me or my Administration in any way,"

How can an action OF YOUR ADMINISTRATION not be representative OF YOUR ADMINISTRATION?

Yes, Mr. Christie, yes it was representative of your administration, because your administration did it.
