So Much For Freedom And Small Government

It should be obvious by now that the GOP has no interest in freedom or small government. It should also be obvious that they care little about the deficit except to starve women and children because we cannot afford to fee them. All of their budget proposals end up exploding the deficit by giving trillions more to the already wealthy. In Virginia they made it illegal to speak or carry signs in protest at the Capital.

I predicted in 2004 that Bush would leave office with a $12 trillion debt. I now predict a $20 trillion debt after four years of a Republican administration should they win. The point is that the GOP is planning to kill the country financially so they can end all pensions, have 150,000,000 Americans without ANY health care, and end all domestic programs.

So unless the GOP is politically killed off as a political party like a rabid dog, the country will not survive as any kind of decent place to live.

Just recently they killed a bill in Colorado that would have made stealing a worker's wage a crime. They also killed a bill that would have had banks have to prove they owned the foreclosed property. Now they want to criminalize the use of family planning, jail women and their doctors, they want to sell the national parks, voted down using American products in rebuilding infrastructure, supported killing GM, etc etc. It goes on and on and gets worse every day.

The GOP are like a bunch of cockroaches and should not be treated kindly or with civility. Personally I have no use for any Republican any more whether they be a voter or a politician. They are all nuts, racist, bigoted and brutally sadistic and selfish. I think they need to be exorcised because they are now the party of Satan as far as I am concerned.

4. And it looks like it will stay that way...

Thanks to four decades of Reagan's deterioration of our nation's education system and the rise of charter schools. Our corporate billionaire overlord scumfucks want people who are just dumb enough to push the buttons and not ask questions about their wages and benefits - and that looks like it's the way we're headed.

Was thinking about those days the other night. And how when he was elected it was like "this is the beginning of the end."

And here we are.

Know that a massive turnout put Obama in office and a weak turnout may mean we get a rickie reagan,

Voting for Santorum would be like voting for the Taliban, voting for Gingrich would be building a theme park on the moon (or base, as he refers to it), and voting for Romney would be like putting Uncle Moneybags in charge of our government. Holy crap.

5. Whenever a GOP-er says "freedom" they're really talking about money.

That's one thing I learned back when I was a Republican years ago. All that bald eagle, flag waving imagery hooks the simpletons, while the real party apparatus speeds toward a plutocracy.

9. Freedom is not the same as small government
Fri Mar 16, 2012, 07:18 AM

These two concepts have been masterfully conflated, but are not the same. The world contains many examples of small and weak government and few of these places have the sort of freedom we seek. They are generally better examples of tribalism, economic exploitation, corruption, environmental degradation and usually are fairly dangerous places to live.

There can be more freedom through bigger and more effective government. Bigger governments give you the freedom to twist the tap and generally get clean water to drink, you have the freedom to be less concerned with who is dumping crap upstream of you. Bigger governments provide uniformly high quality schools and so you get the freedom of not having to figure out where your kids will be safe and well cared for and then making life altering decisions to get them there. Big government can protect you from economic exploitation and when well run prevents your savings from being plundered by speculators and fraudsters.

In a modern world, small government and freedom can be opposed.

There won't be a safe corner in the country for the GOP, the rich, or anyone, to live in.

Or the entire world, for that matter.

We'll get this sorted out right away and after a period of mass chaos and food riots, we won't see another Plutocracy or another GOP party.... ever.

controled the House and Senate, i could not understand how any progressive could vote for a third party candidate Those who voted for Nader made possible Bush and Cheney and all the evil they caused. Yet many vote dfor third party candaidates in 2004 and 2008.
