www.bluedevilnation.com
I see...I see...my DNA ending up in a government database.
If you're a fortune teller, cheat on your spouse, or are loud in church, in New York State, the government will soon legally have the right to retrieve your DNA and put it in a DNA Databank -- that's thanks to an agreement Governor Andrew Cuomo reached with legislative leaders earlier this week on the governor's "All Crimes DNA Bill."
Previously, the state could only swipe the DNA of people convicted of violent felonies. The law was later changed to include all felonies. And now big brother's gone a step further -- anyone convicted of a "penal code misdemeanor" must now hand their DNA over to the government.
The idea is to be able to expand the database to potentially link people to unsolved crimes, which, obviously, would be beneficial for law enforcement. But civil rights groups say it goes too far, and that it opens the door for potential error and fraud at state crime labs.
Wherever you stand on the issue, it's soon to be state statute -- and the best way to avoid having to cough up your DNA is to not break the law.

(12,712 posts)really banded together yet enough to appreciably interfere with the progress of this maturing beast that envelops us with threats from all directions in more ways than you can shake your little stick at, what's in store for our children and theirs?
While it seems somewhat impossible to bring about beneficial change for we, the masses, our participation in a culture of created truth and conceptual manipulations only encourages the continuity of it. Well, fear is the buzzword and we must be safe, and so we all know that our drive to keep what we still have trumps any investments in freedom for ourselves or future generations. Terror has been a useful term to implant into the fields of a vast and complex society and it is now flourishing like an aggressive weed of inverse tyranny in our culture. We are cooperating with our enslavement and supporting its means. Gotta' be safe and live, ya' know!
Just to be safer, it is probably a good idea to teach our children to love Big Brother. Well, that term is a bit hackneyed. They must love the system and cooperate with its every dictate and demand in order to be safe and secure. We have already sold them into that, so they should know it and, like we used to tell them that college was a ticket to a better future, be honest about how compliance is the more intelligent and assured bet for their survival in an oppressive technocracy where wealth is freedom, truth, and more and more so, law.
