Congressman’s New Jobs Plan: Deny Women Access To Abortion So They Can Make More Babies

BY TARA CULP-RESSLER

During a debate over an anti-abortion bill currently advancing in Congress, Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) suggested that Republicans support restricting access to abortion because it will ultimately benefit the economy if women have more children. Goodlatte noted that carrying pregnancies to term “very much promotes job creation.”

Goodlatte made the comments while presiding over a committee mark-up of the “No Taxpayer Funding For Abortion Act,” or HR 7, on Wednesday afternoon. That legislation would dramatically restrict women’s access to affordable abortion care by imposing restrictions on insurance coverage and tax credits for the procedure. Goodlatte, who chairs the House Judiciary Committee, advanced HR 7 by scheduling it for a full committee mark-up on Wednesday.

Explaining his support for the measure, Goodlatte made both a moral and an economic case for anti-choice laws. “I would suggest that it is very much the case that those of us in the majority support this legislation because it is the morally right thing to do but it is also very very true that having a growing population and having new children brought into the world is not harmful to job creation,” he said. “It very much promotes job creation for all the care and services and so on that need to be provided by a lot of people to raise children.”

More fast-food workers? What kind of job creation is he talking about? What do these people eat for breakfast? Is it something in their water? Please tell me they went to private school and are not products of public education!

pregnancies thus creating unwanted children who are born dependent on drugs or in homes where they are neglected or abused.

I watched a really great lecture on TED a while back regarding the crime rate & the correlation to restrictive abortion policy. It makes a ton of sense to anyone who can think outside their damn bible. This is a choice only a woman can make & it's getting really old hearing all of these bullshit excuses as to why women should become baby machines.

is to ensure women have no say in what goes on with their bodies. And he would deny those same women and resultant children any help with food stamps.

What a twisted, cold hearted bastard this "Good"latte is.

Goodlatte, a former House Agriculture Committee chairman, said the key to passing the farm bill may be to take it up in pieces. SNAP spending is too high, Goodlatte said, adding that he could not understand why liberals don’t believe that food stamps can be cut when there have been big cuts to defense spending.

Every man who chooses to express an opinion to someone other than their own spouse or partner that requires women to bear children for any reason other than that they are wholly wanted and not jeopardizing to either maternal or fetal health must:

1. Take nausea-inducing drugs for ninety to 120 days.
2. Wear progressive belly padding to simulate the full range of pregnancy weight gain and physical pressures for the entire duration of nine months - no breaks, bud.
3. Take a 23% pay cut. (Oh wait, don't have to pregnant for that, only female.)
4. Undergo the new procedure which simulates the sensations of childbirth (saw it on the news this weekend).

If I weren't so livid, I'd list about a dozen more conditions, consequences, and circumstances that result from pregnancy, wanted or not. When you have the ability to withstand all of them, and produce an actual child at the end of it, then you may be allowed to express an opinion in general, but NEVER EVER about any woman in particular.

Fuck you very much, asshole.
