Ted Cruz Sidesteps Bob Schieffer's Questions on "Face The Nation" (Video)

July 26, 2014

Everyone wants to know if Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) is going to run for President in 2016, but when asked on CBS's "Face The Nation" if he will seek the White House, Cruz politely sidestepped Bob Schieffer as the show's host tried to pin down the senator on future plans.

Cruz sidestepped other questions as well; but he described what he'd like to hear President Obama say in his upcoming State of the Union address.

however, they do allow Democrats to come on and comment on what Republicans have said.

On today's show, Sen. Chuck Schumer, (hardly a "progressive&quot . was allowed to comment on what Ted Cruz had just said

BOB SCHIEFFER:
"What did you think of what Senator Cruz had to say?"

SEN. CHARLES SCHUMER:
"Well, a lot of it's sort of Alice in Wonderland.
He says the President's policies haven't worked; but he hasn't let them go into effect.
He's blocked just about every one.
And I would say this, I have good news on the debt ceiling.
I do not believe that Republican leaders will follow Ted Cruz over the cliff once again."

connections with the Bush family. Bob himself mentioned playing golf with them but insisted it did not color his reporting. I chose not to believe him. I know that is probably petty of me but...

but it now has an obvious conservative bias, and has had this bias since before Bob Schieffer became the host.

Today's show was different in one respect:
Bob Schieffer showed genuine displeasure with Cruz after the senator refused to directly answer his questions...I've never seen Schieffer do that before.
