I reject the framing of the words...no offense to your OP. Its repatriating the laborers wealth that they created back to US....we the people!

And why do we keep trying to hide that it is? The damn money NEEDS to be redistributed because the powerful have voted it all to themselves. For fuck's sake, why play word games with it?! Make the case about what it is and WHY WE NEED IT!

The only question is: Who do you want to favor in your redistribution? How do you want to redistribute it?

The rich, who are already making money hand over fist and who take in a greater percentage of the money every year?

Or the poor, who every year are dispossessed of whatever percentage of wealth they had previously?

TAXES BY DEFINITION ARE REDISTRIBUTION!!!!

The term "redistribution" is just a term that conservatives use to suggest that there's some evil socialist agenda at work when tax revenues are used as they're intended to be used: to pay for the work of government. The word is intended to paint all government as evil. It's about the only way conservatives can argue their case, i.e., by using terms over and over in a context that suggests something they disapprove of. They long ago refused to face facts.

When they got decades added to existing patent etc. laws, that's effectively redistribution of wealth, etc.

When they limit the number of people they take to MD programs: redistribution.

Three strikes you're out? Redistributive.

Almost all laws and rules are ultimately redistributive: they protect some and harm others.
