And apparently it is very effective against uneducated white people.

If the repubs ever get their way and eliminate food stamps, welfare (what's left of it), Disability, medicaid and social security, these people won't know what hit them. But I would bet they would blame the democrats. And Illegal Immigrants.

selectively cut of from SNAP those who voter for lawmakers who want to cut or eliminate such benefits. What would it take to get people to understand where their own self interest actually lies?

Their tax-free pulpit is extremely powerful. Both parties use the carrot of social issues, to speak to the 99% who will be affected, while economic issues are left for the wealthy to decide.

Doubt these people vote hence the skewed R #'s but those who choose to do so are heavily influenced by the pastors (heard of walking-around money?)

..."selectively" cutting, they should make every Senator and Representative file a request for funding, like they do for pet projects.

That way if a state is shorted, they can blame there members of Congress.

9. 52% of Owsley county residents received SNAP benefits in 2011.

Just an FYI to any lurking GOPers who think the SNAP recipients were all in the other 5%.

Also, from a Bloomberg article last August:

Among the 254 counties where food stamp recipients doubled between 2007 and 2011, Republican Mitt Romney won 213 of them in last year’s presidential election, according to U.S. Department of Agriculture data compiled by Bloomberg. Kentucky’s Owsley County, which backed Romney with 81 percent of its vote, has the largest proportion of food stamp recipients among those that he carried...

So they're not only GOPers, they voted for Romney.

Is expecting lower sales... closing some stores. It seems that without food stamps people cannot buy their food there. Do they understand that paying their employees more would help a lot?? They will crying about their personal losses soon.
