Wisconsin Firefighters President announces Lt. Governor bid

Professional Firefighters of Wisconsin President Mahlon Mitchell announced Monday he’s running for Lt. Governor in the upcoming recall election against incumbent GOP Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch. Mitchell has had a prominent role I nthe Wisconsin Uprising protests from the beginning last year, marching with his firefighters in the historic pro-labor rallies in Wisconsin and traveling the state in the fight against Gov. Scott Walker’s attack on public worker collective bargaining.

[Mahlon Mitchell]: “As firefighters and police officers we don’t just sit idly by and let things happen. We make things happen. If there’s a fire in a house we go in and we put the fire out. We’re I na time right now when decent American values are being trumped by political interests. Working together, moving forward. We need to bring our state back together. That is first and foremost in my mind. The people in our state are united. We’re galvanized, we’re mobilized to do the right thing and take our government back. Government’ aren’t looking out for just the middle class citizen. Government is being ran by corporations and we have to change that.”
