Leading right-wing populist party in the Netherlands calls for the country to withdraw from the EU.

The Netherlands must leave the European Union to boost its economy and stop the flow of immigrants into the country, says outspoken Dutch MP Geert Wilders.

“Nexit” means that we no longer have to pay billions to Brussels and weak Southern European countries, that we can save billions by liberating ourselves from European Union regulations,” the Freedom Party leader told reporters in The Hague. “That we can end the mass immigration and stop paying welfare checks to, for instance, the Bulgarians and the Romanians.”

Wilders will join forces with French firebrand MEP, Marine Le Pen, ahead of May’s vote. He has formed a joint alliance with her far-right Front National.

The pair hope to team up with other anti-immigration parties and form a new new grouping inside the European Parliament.

These are all things Wilders had been be promoting for years, but the upcoming European elections in May are on his mind now.

He sounds like a European tea party convert:

We want to stop sending billions to Brussels (Washington for our version of the tea party);
We want to stop helping poor people in other countries (our version opposes foreign aid);
We want to stop paying welfare to Bulgarians and Romanians (to 'welfare queens' for our tp'ers)."

And now he has formed an alliance with the far-right in France and is looking to do the same in other European countries. It seems that every country over there has a far-right, anti-immigration party, so he will probably have some success in recruiting new members for his alliance.

Should be an interesting election in May.

Wilders should get himself a nice skinhead haircut, to match his politics. Comrade Grumpy Feb 2014 #1
Yeah, his long blonde hair does not look like it fits his politics. Maybe that helps him appear pampango Feb 2014 #2

more 'moderate' to folks who would look at him differently if he had a typical right-wing skinhead haircut.
