A bill that would remove a law that makes it a misdemeanor in Virginia failed in the state legislature. One reason it was tabled was a fear that removing it would legalize incest and other sex crimes.
If you read between the lines of all the GOP rhetoric they want to control the sex lives of the population. The churches and the RW cannot wait to establish a religious Christian nation run on Puritan principles.
Look at the attacks on family planning and push for convenant marriage, anti divorce laws, forced counselling, personhood laws, womens' health care rights restrictions, forced medical practices on pregnant women, etc. Just add up all the supposed nutty propositions in different parts of the country that is really part of their national agenda. Thanks to the GOP marriage to the religious right they are chomping at the bit to take over.
And they have unlimited money from the Koc(k) brothers and powerful economic interests who will help them advance their agenda for their own reasons.
