Teen Arrested for DUI Manslaughter Wants to Do Community Service (at music festival)

Ivanna Villanueva, the 19-year-old who struck and killed a 68-year-old woman last October while allegedly under the influence, wants to do community service. The hitch: She wants to do it at Ultra Music Festival next weekend, and the family members of her victim are none too pleased.

Villanueva, a University of Miami student, was supposed to be the designated driver on the night of October 2. Instead, toxicology tests showed she had almost triple the legal limit of alcohol in her system. She ended up hitting and killing 68-year-old Eyder Ayala, a native of Nicaragua.

According to NBC Miami, Villanueva also now attends Le Cordon Bleu Cooking School, and students from the school will be cooking food for Ultra attendees during the three-day festival next weekend.

We're scratching our head as to how cooking for music festival goers could actually be considered community service. The state, for its part, says it's inappropriate for the teen to be on the grounds of a musical festival to fulfill community service requirements, and says the festival is known for its alcohol use. Beer company Heineken is a major sponsor.

perhaps a more appropriate community service should be to work at a retirement home cleaning bed pans. Though should she get community service for what happned? I don't think so. She was supposed to be the designated driver.

He got four years in prison and served all of them. I thought he got off easy.

Cooking at a music festival? Is she for real?
