Wendy Davis: “Politics is war”
By Anna M. Tinsley

FORT WORTH — Wendy Davis is ready for a rough road to November.

The Fort Worth Democrat said she knows her bid to become Texas’ first female governor since Ann Richards won’t be easy.

“Politics is war,” she said Friday during an interview with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram Editorial Board, when asked how her gender comes into play. “I feel like I have a very legitimate candidacy.

“For the first time, I think, in a long time, people in Texas believe we have the opportunity perhaps to elect someone with a D next to their name as our executive officer in this state,” she said. “And the folks who have been in charge for the last 20 years aren’t going to give that up without a fight.

Politics may be brutal and dirty, but the consequences of a loss are considerably less than what one may lose in a war.

Wars start because of the politicians elected.

The consequences of having bush instead of Gore is quite clear. 9/11 would have never happened with Gore in office.

And being all politics is local, the local elected are what lead to bush being allowed to steal the election. It all adds up. Had we good honest politicians across the board in all of the US, bush would have been called out and run off.

Wendy Davis type folks in office will add up for us, and may just save us from utter annihilation.

If you do all the work on time and the weather cooperates, you reap a real harvest. You only reap as you have sown and toiled.

In Texas, it takes an army to wage an election, so perhaps the Texas agricultural economy might be a better analogy than a garden. The Republicans in this analogy would be the maggots and other vermin, the gopher who steals all the carrots, the raccoon burglar, the weasel in the hen house. Come to think of it, gardening is war.
