Glenn Beck Website Blames Trayvon Martin for His Own Killing

Of course it does....

And the article is almost laughably wrong — “almost laughably” because there’s nothing really funny about this sickening attempt to blame the victim.

Zimmerman has not been arrested because of Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” laws, which state that as long as someone is on their own property, if they have a reasonable suspicion that their life is in danger, they are allowed to use deadly force. Under Florida law, therefore, Zimmerman did nothing wrong, assuming Trayvon Martin actually aggressed against him.

Of course, Zimmerman was not on his own property when he shot Trayvon Martin — he chased the boy down, and shot him in the street.

<...>

This sick article goes on, smearing Trayvon Martin by noting that he’d been suspended from school (is that supposed to be an excuse to murder him?), and providing a helpful list of the reasons why he might have been suspended, including arson, sex offenses, kidnapping, and armed robbery.

because he had been late to school too many times. Last I checked, being late to school isn't a capital offense.

3. And, of course, Beck might have gotten into broacasting

by supplying cocaine to broadcast executives or by holding their children hostage. He might be still on the air because he's having an affair with one of these executives.

4. Of course that's ridiculous but those “Stand Your Ground” laws that the article refers to

do need to be repealed. It might not happen in this case but a lot of shooters have gotten off because of laws like that.

5. Has that blog changed? It used to be right wing I thought but it doesn't seem to be now.

walked away from the reichwing a few years ago and has been debunking libertarians and reichwingers ever since. Apparently it's true.

6. Beck's site also informs us that the "fucking coons" remark may have been referring to raccoons.

I went there to find the story that the OP talks about. I found a different article (the link is to an article on The Blaze, so I'm not recommending going there) that contained this paragraph:

Because of that not, everyone is convinced regarding the recording. An audio expert hired by WFTV in Florida, for example, believes Zimmerman said “punks.” No one reporting on the phrase, however, has questioned if it’s possible Zimmerman was, in fact, referring to raccoons that may have been in the area, which would not be unheard of since the shooting occurred at night.*

The asterisk refers to a footnote that says that part of the story has been updated.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. This asshole is still on national radio 3 hours a day.

Beck would have spun it as naggers, people who annoy by constant complaining.
