A Confederate symbol makes a Georgia comeback

About a dozen years after its removal as the centerpiece of the Georgia state flag, the Confederate battle emblem is back — in a big, though slightly faded way.
The Sons of Confederate Veterans have had custom license plates before, featuring the square symbol of its organization, as seen below. But here’s the newest version, with the St. Andrews flag spanning the plate, that just won state Department of Revenue approval on Feb 1:

I can't even imagine how that plate would make an African American feel.

Stone Mountain being the founding place of the Ku Klux Klan.

Good gawd why can't we just deport the Neo-Confederates to somewhere like Russia.

But then, of course, I realize that there are lots of good, reasonable people in those states who don't deserve to have to live next to those shitheels.

We have these anti-abortion plates in Mississippi for those who pay extra for it, and it pisses me off every time I see one. It's one thing to have special plates that raise money for the state, like the Fish and Game plates, but the state shouldn't lease out license plates for private causes. I think the Klan tried to get some space on the plates a while back, and they were turned down, thankfully, but I think plenty of other causes are borderline offensive. Does every fucking thing have to be for sale in this damned country?

This is appalling.

Do you know what that flag is?

Nothing. Not a God damned thing, historically.

It's similar to the Confederate Navy Jack and the battle colors of the Army of Northern Virginia, but it is neither.

I (honestly) respect the sacrifice of Confederate soldiers, even though I think their cause was wrong.

I absolutely despise people who bring in un-historical elements to the discusssion.

Appalling, and unnacceptable.

Georgia is a rear plate state only and these racists have long put this racist emblem on the front of their car forever. Not only that, on whatever their "special racists days" are, they stick those flag things all over their cars and pickup trucks and fly them proudly. Big and stupid; purchased most likely at Cracker Barrel.

At least this racist version costs them a hefty $42.00 to declare themselves a racist.
