Saudi Men: Women's Makeup Is Cause of Increased Molestation

Over 86 percent of Saudi men said that excessive makeup was the main cause of the increase in public molestation of women in the Kingdom.

Thu, January 9, 2014

A survey conducted by the King Abdul Aziz Centre for National Dialogue in Saudi Arabia shows that Saudi men blame women for the rising rate of molestation in the Gulf. The poll surveyed 992 men and women.

Ironically, in a country where women are required to wear full-face and body coverings in public, over 86 percent of men said that excessive makeup was the main cause of the increase in public molestation of women.

Saudi Arabia has no specific anti-molestations laws or penalties in place to combat indecent assault, a factor which was cited by 80 percent of the poll’s respondents as reason for the increasing phenomenon of molestation of women. The survey made no mention of the strict modesty dress codes to which Saudi women must adhere.

Of those surveyed 91 percent blamed "poor religious sentiment" while 75 percent said that a lack of awareness campaigns and warning notices were causing the problem.

The truth is that a woman can be walking down the street in nothing but heavy makeup and a smile and she is still not asking for rape!

If men in Saudi Arabia are that far out of control, maybe they're the ones who need to be shut away while women run the country!

They use the same arguments, perhaps not as heavyhandedly as the Saudi Arabian cavemen and their ilk, but the gist of the arguments is the same. The way women dress, the way women behave, how men cannot control themselves, how natural it is for men to lack impulse control. They don't realize how man-hating they sound. But given their lack of self-insight, it shouldn't come as a surprise.

A survey proving how little self-control saudi men have and that they shouldn't be trusted around women.

I remember, some years ago a saudi(?) cleric demanded that women cover up in university because young men are not used to being around women and they are like tomcats who can't control themselves.

"Cover up, because we are like animals who can't control themselves."

After all, the men committing sexual assault and worse are the only ones breaking the law. Although, this could be a prelude to outlawing makeup.

Not just Saudi men believe this. Unfortunately.

There are plenty of our own "American Taliban" who do - and not all of those Taliban are men. Even more unfortunately.

What's wrong is a society that believes - for whatever cockamamie theory whatsoever - that molestation of anyone - male or female - is caused by the victim. It is those who molest, or whom a society enables/allows to molest (meaning that the society itself is problematic, to say the least), who are at fault.

Period.

In most cases of blaming the victim, it's passive. It's not about thinking at all, jumping to a conclusion while ignoring logic and reason.

But this, this requires jumping through a lot of mental hoops to get here.

Saudis and others who defend this, does it really do you any good to go out of your way to defend people who do things like this?

This attitude also extends to women showing their hair. Muslim women are not required to cover their hair in order to be muslim, you know. They cover their hair for cultural reasons more than for religious reasons. I know several women in europe who call themselves muslims who wear western clothing and show their hair.

Wearing makeup and showing your hair is viewed by some muslims as whorish. Obviously, whorish women are asking to get raped.

Ladies, are your painted eyes making the men in your area all crazy with uncontrollable desire?

Do your long mascaraed lashes speak volumes of mysterious dangerous forbidden love?

No more!

Get yourself a pair of new government sanctioned wrap around sunglasses!

They will ward off even the most uncontrolled urges of the average Saudi shlub!

But wait! There's more!

If you act now, you can get the full body box of repression!

Once inside, no one will see you at all! In a nation that already considers women second class citizens, you will now be a complete nobody!

All for 49.99!

Operators are awaiting your call!!!

Do I really need to add the sarcasm tag?
