I am not a feminist

I am of the male persuasion. I am not a feminist, but not because of my gender. I am not a feminist, but not because I necessarily disagree with what some...most say. While I do agree with almost everything I personally know about feminism, I do not agree with everything, and that is not why I am not a feminist.

I am not a feminist because some feminists and non-feminists find male feminists creepy. I am not a feminist because I am sexist.

Almost all issues raised by feminists are issues of equality, and equality IMO is a basic human right. I do not believe in a second class citizen based on gender nor color, nor orientation. I do believe in equality, and thus support many of the feminists goals. I agree with, in theory the subject/object roles of women and men (mostly women) in society today. I have two step daughters, 11 and 12 who look at all those Photoshoped magazines and think they are real. Who look at the same commercials I may not notice, and think the women being shown are the norm or worse what they need to act/be like in order to be societies fake twisted image of what a real woman is.

I am not a feminist because one does not need to be a feminist to stand for basic rights. Women making 70% of what a man would. Being skipped over advancement; it's really a sick joke.

I may not be a feminist, nor agree with everything that's said, but I do show support in every way I can.

and both interest and concern regarding critical women's issues, makes you a "feminist" in my book...

Regardless, your support is appreciated, but I am admittedly saddened it is not a "NORM" for ALL Dem/Progressive/Liberals-- regardless of gender.
