Anti-choice group says they've been threatened by scary girl scouts

The article gets more ridiculous as it goes along. And that "scathing", "threatening" letter! Scary! I must remember to put some GS cookies on my shopping list.

Girl Scouts USA Threatens LifeNews After Reporting Its Link to Planned Parenthood
by Steven Ertelt | Washington, DC | LifeNews.com | 2/17/14 12:31 PM

During the last two weeks, LifeNews has brought international attention to the link between the Girl Scouts and the Planned Parenthood abortion business and the national boycott of Girl Scouts cookies sponsored by pro-life groups.

The pro-life movement has been concerned for a number of years about the ties between the Girl Scouts and the Planned Parenthood abortion business. Although the Girl Scout organization maintains that it takes “no position” on the issue of abortion, parents, churches, and pro-life activists have long complained of the pro-abortion slant of the Girl Scouts’ resources, role models, and affiliations.

After a series of articles on the boycott and the Girl Scouts-Planned Parenthood link, that featured the Girl Scouts logo to identify the organization, Brian Crawford, an executive with Girl Scouts USA, wrote LifeNews a scathing letter attempting to intimidate us into stopping our reporting on their link and to no longer use their logo or image to identify them as we bring attention to their support for the nation’s biggest abortion business.

In his letter Crawford again denied any connection to Planned Parenthood and he complained about LifeNews.com “articles that outline alleged ties to Planned Parenthood,” saying “GSUSA has an obligation to protect the Girl Scout name.”

MORE.... but don't tour the site too much if you haven't eaten already.

Does that mean you can buy cookies on the spot, or is it still the old "order for later delivery" model?

our presale time (where you order for later delivery) is over, and the booth sales time will start next week. We pick up cookies on Wednesday to distribute to the presell orders and to use for booth sales.

now the troops order the cookies before they get any orders. Kind of mean deal as they have to make a guess at what they need.

I ordered some from my little neighbor last week and she had them to my apartment within 5 minutes of leaving with my check. I plan to buy some more and donate them as I don't need the cookies myself - but I really want to help GSA out now that the wingers are out to get them.

Haven't had any scouts come to my door in a couple of years. Now I'm really hungry for some trefoils and Nutella!

But you could buy some and donate to the local food pantry. I always try to include some treat-type items in my bags.

They do have some gluten-free cookies, though.

At the end of the sale season, the military collects the cookies and mails them overseas.

You can support the Girl Scouts and the Military at the same time--double win!
