A quick word of Thanks to Karl Rove

To the man who gave us Sarah Palin.....

I happened upon this old clip where Rove basically appears to admit (while denying what words were actually used) a call to Joe Lieberman to take his name out of contention as John McCain's V.P....?!! all of this leading to McCain choosing his perpetually damaged VP candidate Sarah Palin.... thereby assuring Democrats of a huge victory in the election of 2008.

Thank you Karl. Your manipulations and contortions behind the scenes to try and get the GOP to do what you think is the 'right' thing for the Republican Party has given us a wonderful 2-Term Democratic President in Barack Obama.

You should be so PROUD!!! Hope FoxNews continues to give you all the freedom to control and manipulate the GOP throughout the next few election cycles. Your 'success' rate is downright appreciated!

<muuuwah, muuwah... air kisses to Karl Rove>

It was Bill Kristol who "discovered" Palin and promoted her to the McCain campaign.

No wonder Bill Kristol has remained so positive about her while other neocons have fled. He helped push her to the veep ticket—and won out against Karl Rove.

Kristol met Palin during a stop-over on an Alaskan cruise and was enchanted.

...and yes it was Kristol among other who help wedge her in it at the last second, right as the successful Obama convention blew everyone out of the water. McCain didn't even see Palin as someone in the immediate future of GOP relevancy... just someone with some 'future potential' for the party.

But prior to that, McCain considered the 100% mavericky-way to go was to pull a Democrat into his ticket, and would have no doubt done it had it not been for Rove's persistence. No question that Joe Lieberman had his eyes set on that VP position and McCain was willing to offer it up on a silver platter. Rove likely feared a revolt at the convention would undermine the mavericky-move McCain would make, effectively neutering his campaign.

Poor Lieberman.

What a dickwad -- so glad he has spun himself a hole to spider into...

Lee Atwater, the famous Republican strategist who died in 1991, almost certainly would have hated any Hollywood movie about him. Now that one script, College Republicans, has fallen into the hands of Kill Your Darlings director John Krokidas, and with stars Daniel Radcliffe and Dane DeHaan reportedly on board, Atwater is surely screaming somewhere in Moral Majority heaven.

Bullshit only works if people believe it.

The more light on their activities, the better off the rest of us will be.
