Gambling, drugs, and red light cameras are the path to solvency

Have you noticed what municipalities are doing to raise money these days? They are turning to gambling, drugs, and red light cameras. The first two are traditionally considered immoral and the third is a big brotherish attack on quality of life. But if people look at the numbers, there is money to be made:

NY Estimates $430 Million in additional revenue annually.

Colorado estimates $98 million in marijuana tax revenue for 2015

Florida red light cameras generate $100 Million in revenue in 2013

Are these now the ways for communities to make money? Are gambling, drugs, and red light cameras the best we can do? How long till we go all the way and legalize prostitution. Why? The question apparently is why not.

Wearing a helmet makes it impossible for anyone inspecting the photo to establish who was actually riding the motorcycle at the time of the violation. The same goes for a car where a view of the driver's face is obstructed. Your head could be turned or the visor could be down. Photo tickets are discarded all the time because of such things. They don't even bother mailing the ticket because it is totally unenforceable.
