Very Sad Time For The Country
Earlier I overstepped my bounds in a comment about Zimmerman and his family. He needs to be brought to justice in a proper way.
What is really sad is the real possibility that the murderer will never be arrested. I see intransigence by the authorities in Florida. Secondly the situation is a real hot potato for Obama. Taking strong action will create a strong backlash against Obama and the right wing hate machine will excoriate the administration viciously and will play the reverse race card in every way.
Finally, the case against Zimmerman has been severely compromised. Except for the tape and eye witnesses very little forensic evidence appears to have been taken or processed. A lot of critical evidence was destroyed. And the murder weapon was given back to the perpetrator. It looks like police reports were mangled in such a way to muddy up events. The law itself and the state of the information in the case is so tainted that it creates and air of reasonable doubt. It will be very difficult to get a murder conviction in that racist environment.
The local up to the governor are just playing for time in my opinion. And once the RW gets its bearing it will counter attack and we are seeing signs of that already with Fox Noise.
