200 people took photos with Trayvon Martin's killer at gun store!

Wow. From WOFL-TV: Exclusive: George Zimmerman speaks with Fox 35 News

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

George Zimmerman made an appearance at a gun store Saturday.

He spent the day at The Arms Store, where around 200 customers stopped by to meet him and take pictures.

Fox 35's Valerie Boey: "You have said you still walk around armed, why is that?"

George Zimmerman: "I walk around armed; I walk around with a bullet proof vest; it's not so much for my safety as it is so much for those around me. I can be around my family and something might happen to them. There's children around me, etc. Those threats… I have to be able to defend myself like any American.

Fox 35's Valerie Boey: "Do you think it's appropriate to be here, some may say it's antagonistic?"

George Zimmerman: "I don't worry about people that say it's antagonistic. To be honest with you, like I said, the importance was support the people that supported me."

Wow. I can't tell what's worse, WOFL giving this man any airtime at all or the fact that 200 people proudly take photos with this man.

And the one comment on this article actually says: "God bless you George Zimmerman, we need you in every major city in this country. You're the truest definition on color blind, no matter what those racists say." Seriously.

They view him as an average Joe who lawfully defended himself from an unprovoked attack. In that context it (sort of) makes sense. Of course, in reality, he's a sociopath.

Granted, it's seriously weird to want a picture with someone like Zimmerman, but he's famous and even famous idiots have "fans" who want to put dumb shit up on Facebook.

And before anyone with twisted panties gets all verklempt because their emotions just told them that I compared dogs to a kid, that's not what I did. I compared a convicted sick twist with an acquitted sick twist.

Try again. There are a LOT of stupid people out there, but I'm fairly certain that most don't embrace Zimmerman because he killed a black kid. Constitutional rights, Florida, stand your ground, fame...whatever. Few (I hope) are cheering him just because he ended the life of a black kid. If you can prove otherwise, I'm happy to listen.

If you want to take a step back and say that people love him because he got away with killing someone, I'd entertain that.

I only mentioned Vick because I think it was the only real comparison because OJ doesn't have many fans but Vick did and continues to have them. Vick does a lot of work with the humane society, he's trying to earn their respect again.

You can't say that for OJ who went on to almost kill more people. Zimmerman is likely to kill again.

I'll leave Vick out of the rest of it, you don't really know what you're talking about and that's okay.

Zimmerman fucked up, paid his dues (so to speak) yet you ostracize. Please explain.

And please understand that I'm not standing up for Zimmerman, I'm just trying to help folks see that they are stupid, and make stupid arguments that they can't substantiate.

I'm not ostracizing him. I wish he would go away. But he keeps doing shit to stay relevant. He's trying to make bank being a celebrity. Selling copyright infringing paintings, proposing celebrity boxing matches, etc. I think we're all more upset about people rallying to him as supporters and fans.

I'm just as upset about that crap as I would be, say, BPP or some other groups guilty of crimes, some are still in Cuba, living free.

I think that Darren Sharper will not have the chance to rehabilitate himself. It appears he will be going away forever.

The odd thing is, I bet he could get all kinds of women to have sex with him which proves that rape is not always about having sex.

I thought the analogy was a fair attempt, but we don't see many "OJ" fans, but we do see Vick fans. Vick has done a lot of work to change who he was, which we don't see with OJ or Zimmerman, they were and are in denial about their actions and as we saw with OJ, there will probably be a repeat offense with Zimmerman. It's unfortunate but that's how it is in a lot of cases.

These people live in a fantasy world where they "even the score" for society. They play out these scenarios in their heads where they step in and stop the evil doers. If they were in the Aurora movie theater, they would have taken the shooter down in the dark with just one shot! Its why they love Zimmerman. In their minds he did what they dream of doing. Trayvon Martin wasn't a person to them, he was a faceless, nameless threat that's always lurking out there.

ORLANDO, Fla. — The New Orlando Gun show is mixed up in controversy after announcing George Zimmerman will be a featured guest.

The trade show had to change venues to the Arms Room for their weekend event after the event started getting criticism over Zimmerman's attendance. He is the featured guest at the show.

The original venue, Majestic, on North John Young Parkway, barred the event from taking place at its facility. The show owners tried to sue for breach of contract, but a judge denied the injunction. A show organizer said, "We're not in the business of discriminating, no matter who it is."
