"President Barack Obama gets early copies of HBO's Game of Thrones before the general public.

The show's creators confirmed to Vanity Fair that the president received copies of the show before it's released to the general public.

In a report published Tuesday, Vanity Fair asked Game of Thrones creators D.B. Weiss and David Benioff about a rumor that Obama regularly gets episodes of the show early. They responded in an email "one perk of being the most powerful man in the world: yes, you get to see episodes early."


Obama has said in the past that he likes Game of Thrones along with Homeland, The Wire, and House of Cards, according to a New York Times report last year.

Game of Thrones season 4 premieres April 6."

1. Seriously, repubs are freaking out about this. In their world he's forcing this company to do this

and God knows what else. I'm pretty sure this is a common occurrence, as past administrations have viewed movies and such before their premieres. I think it's kind of "a thing" for the White House to do. Host movie viewings with a bunch of movers and shakers or staff.
