FL teacher who routinely tweets ‘OBAMA IS A P*SSY’ upset at exclusion from Obama event

A social studies teacher at a Florida high school is claiming that his “right to free speech” was violated when school administrators barred him from a recent appearance of President Barack Obama.

Coral Reef Senior High teacher Randall Scott had said that he “would rather dine in Hell with Satan” than shake the president’s hand, and described himself as a “virulent anti-Communist and hater of Obamanism.”

Scott told his side of the story in a letter he posted on Instagram. “I’m a conservative Republican who uses social media to express my views,” he wrote. “At the last two faculty meetings our principal had strongly advised us not to post anything. As a citizen of this great country I chose to ignore her advise [sic] which now in retrospect seems more like a veiled threat.”

“The next day,” he continued, “I’m suddenly excluded from a presidential event.”

Miami-Dade County Public Schools spokesman John Schuster said in a statement that “the size and setup of the event venue did not permit all of the school’s staff and students to attend, and local administrators were required to decide who would attend to represent the school.”

As far as "different decade" goes, that is exactly what I was referring to when I suggested you insert some difference that's irrelevant to the actual point.

It's funny, because I suggested a few posts ago that you could either try to go with a "it was different then because" post OR you could just attempt to bully me but neither was going to do much to my argument. Honestly, I've got a bit of faith in Obama that if miscreant idiots like this "teacher" want to show up and shout about how they don't know much about anything, and our Prez can laugh it off as it should be, then so be it. Derail morons whining about how they were wronged while also pointing out just how stupid they are. Win win. We should never stifle the posting of random shitwits of the Republican ilk on the interwebs. Because entertaining.

Sadly, the problem is bigger than this. Randall Scott seems to be what one might call a teacher. An educator of the youth. Dine with Satan? Hey chilly, Charlie Manson probably finds you quite amusing...but in a good way.

If I was a parent that had a child that was in this "teachers" class I would be conferencing with school administration about his qualifications to teach a core subject such as social studies. Social studies is one of those courses that offers ample opportunity for plenty of teacher sourced editorial opinion. I can imagine the impact this supposedly mature adult is having on his impressionable young victims (err students).

He shouldn't just be excluded from a campus event, but from the campus.

Scary that he teaches children

Looking further down his timeline, one sees he's in love with Putin. No surprise

in any way?

Yes, this guy is a jackass. My point is if he were a jackass opposed to * when he was president, some people here would be crying foul.

A good rule of thumb, if some event occurs and you're not sure whose side to take until you find out what their political leanings are, you might want to take a second look at your own values.

Former Pres Shrub had the Secret Service block potential attendees from public events where he was speaking by turning them away in the parking lot if their cars had Democratic bumper stickers. The explanation was that they were a security risk.

I mean, maybe things really have changed that much since I was a high school student in the '70s, but back then, calling someone a p*ss7 wasn't something that was tolerated even from students, let alone teachers (that is not to say students never said such things -- of course they did but if I teacher heard you say it, you would be sent to the principal's office). There was just a level of professional decorum expected of teachers, and with very rare exception, they avoided injecting their personal political views into classroom discussions.

I just have to laugh at those idjits who love them some Putin but then turn around and claim Obama is the commie they must fear.

You can't even make UP that level of STUUUUUUUUUPID.

Thu Mar 13, 2014, 03:18 PM
Mar 2014

No. he's a ranting, frothing, zealot. Good luck GOP if that is the face of "conservative republicans." The lunatic fringe is now your MAINSTREAM.

Judging from the things that he's posted, the School Board should tread carefully with him. If you have a high school social studies teacher posting things like that, with an obvious disrespect for civics, and a torrid passion for automatic weapons... it may not end well. Reminds me of some of those stories we've seen of city council members, or city employees, that burst into meetings violently because they believe that they're being persecuted.

ETA- Not to mention the fact that the fucktwit probably couldn't pass the security screening for the event. Makes you wonder how many illegal weapons that dude is stockpiling... way to call attention to yourself.

It amazes me that he would be upset about not being in attendance at a function with a man that he despises with his entire being. I would think that he would be okay with not having to attend so he could go out and protest the event with those like minded as himself. I would like to hear what the student body has to say about a self-absorbed teacher whose opinions they have to listen to on a daily basis ? If he thinks the President is such a "PUSSY" then he should be okay not attending this event.

A "Free Speech Zone" as the use was greatly expanded during GWB's reign.

I was forced to stand in a fenced in (topped with barbed wire) paved parking lot on a 90+ degree day and not allowed to bring in even an water! Even though in a past administration I had a top-level Secret Service clearance.

You can disagree with a president on principles etc.. but you should not make it vocal to your students. As a teacher .. one should show respect for the office. But then this is FL ... and I am sure his point of view is mirrored with many of the student's parents.

Anyway - will he lose those dimes now that he has really been outed?
