If Keystone pipeline goes through WH approval will sink below 30% and stay there sinking Dems

all over the country. 2014 will be hard enough for those of us who actually do the groundwork for the local Dem party and affiliated organizations. Keystone approval will make our work so much harder.....and sadder....hard to be enthusiastic when you feel so betrayed.

My "WH approval" will likely rise if they paint the exterior with purple polka dots.

here in NC, this election is getting tougher for US at every turn and the Keystone deal going through will make it more difficult. We ARE the faithful Dem activists.

Democrats have to stop being so risk averse, being afraid of their own base, stop placating right-wingers -- and motivate liberal and progressive voters.

2014 ought to be a tidal wave for Democrats considering how extreme have become the Tea Party-Repuglicans. But that means Democratic candidates have to be aggressive, bold, unafraid and advocates for progressive policies. It also means the the Democratic Party campaign establishment has to be super negative on the GOP.

So, who thinks that is going to happen?

But when we have Dem politicians pushing TPP and keystone pipeline it's hard to to tell the difference.

Unfortunately DU is no longer the place. Basically, I doubt they even care and that's a sad, sorry state of affairs. Thanks for confirming something I sensed about you- genuine care and realism. Much respect blm.

I don't think so. I think the Keystone profiteers set up some of those explosions to help scare people TOWARDS accepting the pipeline deal.

who end up doing the heaviest lifting in midterm elections. GOP usually has the advantage in every midterm election because they speak ONLY to their base then which drives them to the polls.

Being conciliatory to the right-wingers and big energy on Keystone is NOT a way to motivate the Dem base. It IS the way to demoralize those activists running the Dem ground game in the toughest states.

There is enough data out there and CERTAINLY enough tragic photos out there that would convince most Americans about the tragic consequences of that pipeline. I doubt revealing the extent of the real danger would be a tough sell, especially after WV and NC's recent environmental tragedies.

can either support Obamas decision on the pipeline or not, their choice. IMO the betrayal will be by Obama if he signs it and any Senator or Congress person who supports it. I will not vote in 2014 for someone who supports the approval of the pipeline.
