Judge orders parties involved in puppy case to find solution

Judge orders parties involved in puppy case to find solution

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The fate of the 27 puppies that survived a pet shop fire in January is up to the two parties fighting over them.

Clark County Judge Kenneth Cory has ruled that both parties need to find a solution within 45 days, but they won't be allowed to announce their decision.

There's been a fight over whether the puppies will be raffled off or if they will be handed over to the pet shop owner, Gloria Lee's estranged husband, Donald Thompson.

Thompson filed a civil lawsuit against the county and The Animal Foundation after county officials said the shelter could raffle the puppies to the public.

Thompson wants the animals to go to another rescue group.
