DOORssss
we are having the best of time.
Edit..... K. Us women are a tad busy here needing some speed, ending up in peublo and we ALL know what that means. K, some may not know but I am too busy right now to get into it. So later all. Get back later on the op and issues. Loves you all and we are workin' toward the giggles.

(26,624 posts)We're on the other side of the mountain from Estes Park, but the road through Rocky Mtn National Park is closed in the winter. With all the snow we've had this year, we're hoping for a Memorial Day opening, but it's unlikely.
We are open all year, accessible from highway 40 to 34. The road stops at Grand Lake in the winter.

(80,708 posts)you're not looking hard enough.
BainsBane
(53,035 posts)I must have misinterpreted the in seeing it as friendly or positive rather than as you intended it. I stand corrected.
Warren DeMontague
(80,708 posts)If you're talking about mildly mocking, elsewhere... a recent 6-0 failed alert springs to mind - what I absolutely do perceive to be a past bout of absurdity and overreaction on DU, that's not really relevant to the thread, nor to my well wishes here.
Furthermore, it's my hunch, or my hope, that most people can handle a bit of mild feather-ruffling in that regard- which is also, unless I'm misinterpreting it, what the whole "DOOORS!" subtext here in this thread is about; namely, mildly mocking what some see as a past absurdity and overreaction on DU. (The bread thing would seem to be mocking the mocking of an absurdity, or mocking the absurd mocking of an absurdity, or maybe like a 3rd or 4th degree mock... not sure)
I wasn't really a party to that silliness- and it was silliness- but I suspect DU can handle being made fun of in that manner.
Bonobo
(29,257 posts)Despite the frequent label of "whiners", this thread was not alerted on as being a "Lounge-worthy vanity thread" nor were individual posts about doors or women with knives alerted on... SOME of us can chill and deal with stuff without freaking out and making frivolous alerts.
Warren DeMontague
(80,708 posts)probably seem more critical than it would have been intended.
FWIW, I think it's nice if people are out having a good time and meeting up. DU can use more of that, and it isn't gonna kill GD to be in here IMHO.
Bonobo
(29,257 posts)People should have more fun not less.
Especially if it leads to chilling out and unwinding and healing.
BainsBane
(53,035 posts)about a rape PSA that dared to put the focus on rapists rather than women? Or freaking out that someone dared to post a thread about domestic violence against mere women without mentioning the far more important half of society?
Yeah, I've never done that.
Just wondering when the administrators started letting you see who was sending alerts since you seem certain you know information that is private. Jeez, every post I write gets alerted on. You don't see me complaining about it. There aren't enough hours in the day. Should I conclude the alert you are referencing was against a member of the society who actually has value as a human being because of a certain chromosomal make up, as opposed to the rest of us? Complaining about frivolous alerts. That's hysterical. Working to get women banned for the crime of being feminists who support equal rights wouldn't be frivolous. That serves the greater good.
BainsBane
(53,035 posts)I'm not talking about anyone's words but your own. So make nice with Sea all you want. She has far higher tolerance for BS than I do. I'm just here to say I see through the game. Everything any of us writes on DU is open to the public. So let's cut the pretense, shall we? BTW, That question requires no response. We both already know what's going on, and I have learned better than to expect anything else.
Warren DeMontague
(80,708 posts)Some people here can be downright nasty. I'm actually not one of them.
You have a problem with something specific I've said, take it up with me directly, please. Speaking of games.
BainsBane
(53,035 posts)for starters. Really it doesn't matter. As I said, I expect nothing else from you at this point. There is no point reviewing specific quotes because you have been clear that my concerns about human equality and social justice are to be met only with mockery since they pale in comparison to the far more important matter of unfettered white male privilege.

seabeyond
(110,159 posts)order. that is great to know.
last week i drove up to colorado springs adn a couple women flew into colorado. we met up with another woman that lives in colorado sprs. we proceeded to have a blast. i have to do another trip up there soon. i have almost decided i really really want to move there.
BUT...
my son is talking about transferring from university of new orleans to UT or UofT. if he goes to UT, you can betcha i will be knockin on your door to take you out for drinks and dinner. austin would be a blast to explore. i drove thru it once, about 2 yrs ago.
oh, ok... the doors. you know the silly guys that always bring up the doors. one of the gals would hold the door, adn we would bust out in giggles. we had doormen. they were so lovely, and sure enough a woman would shout out... doors.... lol. cause a few men are always trippin' about doors on du.
as far as the loaf thing? not real sure. had to do with a dick, in lounge, that was so big it had to be carried by a push cart. whatever, right? and people started flipping. and i guess some guys, or a guy or something, thought it a loaf of bread. i do not know. i wasnt a part of that one.
less confused? or more confused?
love ya
Texasgal
