Now let's have someone do a rebuttal to that Boonstra chick whose mugkeeps showing up on the righthand side of my screen on DU. I see enough of her on the local channels here in Michigan and we all know she's a shill for the Repukes here in Michigan.

This Louisiana ad needs to be on air there... immediately, often, and through this election season.

(10,942 posts)able to afford her new insurance are lies. The best way to stop her is first to put out the facts, using some of her commercial footage - lies confronted by facts. The second thing is to find out her political affiliation, I am sure it is republican then explain that she is using her illness to play politics that will end up hurting millions of people if her lies aren't countered.

(18,402 posts)It's a great ad, but it's one guy who made and presumably funded it. Will anyone really see it? I hope so ... or hope that more politicians and outside groups who can get it on the air make similar ones.

I expect all of his stuff is simply on youtube which is a huge shame.

(23,156 posts)Most likely someone here on DU posted a link. I actually have the link on my desktop, and every so often I watch it again. It is so brilliant that I don't have words to describe it.

(53,661 posts)We've already seen how they run their propaganda mills in M$M, and how they have meetings out of sight! Imagine FNN authoritarianism in every aspect of your life with no escape allowed! Remember how their GOP supporters threatend to fire anyone who didn't vote for Romney!
At least we can argue about the government and make changes, but corporations are authoritarian by nature, with little voice by those lower down except with unions or working groups as VW wanted.
They want us to have no voice, no clean water, air or food, no place to live unless they profit and we worship as they say, live as they say, do as they say. If not they want us to FOAD!
Why people can't see that the anarchy they seek to create is rightwing? That their agitation and constant patter against all Democrat and government is to enrich their lives, not ours?
Exccllent pic!

(23,156 posts)And I just don't get it. Was the OP's spouse actually better off before? It's not entirely clear.
It is also true that there will be those who will be somewhat less well off under the ACA. But overall, the vast majority are better off, from what I understand. I happen to currently have a very good health plan through my employer, and I'm getting ready to retire and I'm researching Medicare Parts B and D. But, especially as someone who is in amazing good health and who takes only one medication (a diuretic) my needs are minimal. Those with chronic conditions are in a very different situation.

(8,377 posts)This is the heart of what is wrong. It really is two guys at the center of a big part of where our democracy has become broken. I think this ad is exactly the right answer. We can never get together enough money to fight each BS point that Americans for A Finer Future (or whatever the hell these jerks call their latest astroturf organization) dumps out there. But if we pool our resources, we can EDUCATE the public -- inoculate them against the Koch plague.

(14,087 posts)The Koch bros. not only have unlimited $$ to run ads, the networks are giving them breaks & air time. I'm sick of corporate America telling so many LIES to the public. I'm sick of it all.

(1,309 posts)Here in Ohio when we kicked republican legislator butt in a special referendum to protect rights of municipal unions the ads like this one were aimed at those who lean republican. We did this in Ohio by using firemen and police, male authority figures republicans claim to support as spokesmen. This above ad takes a similar tack, using the dislike republican leaning citizens have for outside carpetbaggers as they are often called to tell them what to think and how to vote. Portraying the Koch brother interference as outsiders trying to tell locals what to believe is very damaging to those who want to fight Obamacare. This is very clever and will work. The producer of this ad is to be commended for his proactive actions and his political acumen.
