UR hikes tuition, room and board
Undergraduate students at the University of Rochester and the Eastman School of Music will see tuition hikes for the upcoming academic year.
Tuition will increase 3.5 percent this year to $46,150 for the 2014-2015 school year, according to university. Room and board will go up to $13,638 a 4.4 percent increase.
Tuition rates are also on the ride at UR's professional schools. For the 2014-15 academic year, the School of Medicine and Dentistry will see a 4.1 percent increase to $48,400; the School of Nursing's three-semester accelerated program will be $59,660, up 3.3 percent; the Simon School of Business will increase by 3.5 percent to $50,820, and the Warner School of Education will increase 3.8 percent to $41,472.
"The University is committed to moderating the rate of tuition and cost of attendance increases, while strengthening our position as one of the nation's leading research universities," said President Joel Seligman in a statement. "Providing financial assistance to meet the need of current and future students is a priority."
