Hmm..what to say ? Very southern (duh), people very friendly (to me anyway fwiw) but very conservative. They seem to really love their football. I've only driven through Mobile and was in Auburn for a while to see a friend.
ok your turn.....

(56,582 posts)IIRC mayo, vinegar, and a little hot sauce. Not like the more common tomato-based sauces in neighboring states.

(16,846 posts)The south has some great beaches and the north is in the foothills of the Appalachians. I think the north is very scenic, but I'm more partial to mountains than the beaches. There are some very nice little towns throughout the state.
The people are friendly in Alabama, but I'll give you one piece of advice about them. If you're just meeting them, don't bring up football. Football is the state religion in Alabama, and they have some strong opinions about it. If they ask you if you're an Alabama fan or an Auburn fan, just say that you don't know anything about either team, because if you pick the wrong team, you've made an enemy for life.

the ugliness isn't worth it
when I started these I was trying to build a little unity and let people say why they loved their homes despite the problems
sadly I didn't finish and I only had a few states to go
but thanks for this it let me know it wasn't a waste of my time
now I think I will finish them
here is my favorite its of course about my florida

I have no idea if they were conservative. Conversation never came to that.
We talked about food, entertainment and work.
So, I'm not sure.
