Cargo plane escorted from Dutch airspace

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
THE HAGUE, Netherlands -- The Netherlands' air force has scrambled a pair of F-16s to escort a plane that approached Dutch airspace unannounced during a meeting of 53 world leaders.

The cargo plane, a Boeing 777 operated by Chile's LAN Cargo, had departed from Miami. Dutch National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism spokesman Lodewijk Hekking said the cargo plane's pilot cooperated immediately and was escorted safely to Frankfurt, Germany.

Hekking said he didn't know whether the pilot or LAN had been aware that parts of Dutch airspace were closed for the summit.

Representatives for LAN in Amsterdam declined to comment.

Think about that for a minute.

Those pilots probably pull more G's just trying to stay IN Netherlands airspace than any other maneuver.

They probably have pre-taped apologies to the Germans, Belgians and English for anytime they aren't able to execute the turn quickly enough.
