What's amazing about this video is that the entire time Scar talks through her point which is quite rude and condescending. Yet Mika never really gets to a point where she needs to calm down, nor does she really raise her voice but boy did her tell her without the words, "Shut the fuck up, woman, your opinion doesn't matter!"

(14,040 posts)She seems to have a bit more sense than Joe and he's always patronizing her. Money can't mean that much to her (or maybe it can).

(31,464 posts)Mika grew up in the White House. Literally. Daddy was President Carter's right hand man. She was buds with Amy Carter as a teenager. She breathes rarified air. She can't do anything else but look pretty and tell people what she thinks (does she think?). She happily admits that she's seen no current movies and hates all modern culture. She is the epitome of privilege and elitism. That said, she is an absolute genius compared to Joe Scab, and so far above the bubble heads on Fox "News."
The whole show sucks. But I think Mika is kinda okay.

(5,842 posts)One would think people would watch anything that offered a decent alternative to an angry "dry" drunk who berates his female co-host and talks over guests who are better informed than he is on particular issues.

(10,952 posts)Was she able to get them to discuss real news and not speculations on old stories? I liked that she was not backing down and he really did sound like an idiot. She needs to stand up to him a lot more.

(3,182 posts)She would simply get up and walk off the set when he behaves like that.
The VERY best approach to such sexism is to refuse to participate in it.

(37,152 posts)Maybe one day she'll put the things she writes about into practice. I hope so!
At least in this instance, she doesn't let him stop her.

(20,411 posts)the taped 3rd hour so she could see it herself - and kept telling her how disgusting joe was acting.
Guess what - the producers cut this portion during the taped 3rd hour! They are beginning to realize what a condescending pos he is.

Just more proof that Scarborough really is the weak link on what has the makings to be a decent morning cable "panel" show. It's mind-boggling that MSNBC thinks that people are tuning in exclusively to watch a former C-level Congressman who hasn't held office in years pontificate on things he is woefully out of touch about.

(5,842 posts)Even if for no other reason than people get to actually talk about current events in an intelligent and civilized manner without an attention starved overgrown frat-boy draining the energy from the room.
I've lost track of how many times Joe has hijacked a conversation or stopped one from taking place simply because his POV was in the minority.

FWIW, I just listen to NPR in the morning and don't turn the TV on until Jerry Springer's on. That, no doubt, makes me a doubling down idiot.

(37,152 posts)it's on so early - according to Valerie Jarrett, who has been on many times.
That's one reason to watch it - to get the scoop on what they think is important for the day.

(37,152 posts)By the graphics and announcements of guests coming up you can tell what the day's topics are in a very short time.
My husband can't stand that they play great classic rock - as if RepubliCons like Joe supported that hippie stuff back in the day. lol

(1,345 posts)I stopped because I could not stand JS anymore. kept thinking msnbc would fire him. I like the guests most times except the horrible republican woman. Not a bad format for a news show. I worry about Mika and whatever hype she has bought in to. She tweeted yesterday or monday that she was so happy to have him back. So something has her hooked.

(1,345 posts)she had a very strong bossy Dad. Now she is connected to someone who is difficult and opinionated but not so nice and not so smart. She is speaking out in this clip even though he is not listening. The show has all these strange pictures of the two of them in many places like they are a couple. What is that about?
