Stupid question of the day

Why can we have Bin Laden son-in-law's trial in NYC but we couldn't have a single trial of anyone in Gitmo here in the USA because something amazingly horrible was gonna happen? I remember ever elected official predicting doom and gloom. Here it is that Bin Laden's son-in-law has a trial and no one seems to give a crap. The sky was going to open up and consume us all in the chaos of terror trials happening inside the USA. What gives? Should I expect NYC to burn to the ground tomorrow or the next day or perhaps was the whole deal about having trials for people in GITMO just a made up lame excuse?

the whole Gitmo mess could have began to resolve.
Under the standard rules of Teapublican obstructionism that could not be allowed to happen.

Just another Obama promise broken!
Chaos would have ensued if somehow the obstruction failed.

One more mess we can thank the GOP for.
