If the Court strikes down the healthcare legislation...

... , and it is looking more and more like they probably will, then all I can say is that the voters ought to demand that Congress immediately get to work on passing and implementing a single-payer, Medicare-for-all type of system (which always was a better option anyway); and if Congress is unwilling to do that, then voters should demand that ALL taxpayer provided healthcare coverage provided to ALL members of the legislative and judicial branches, and their families, be immediately terminated and remain so until such time as Congress can figure out a way to make affordable healthcare accessible to ALL of the rest of us!

for single payer. Not even from the dems. Too many from both parties have taken a ton of money from medical corps and big pharma.

I am very worried about the future of this country.

. . . Last night, as I read people's comments to various articles about the oral arguments before the SC, I found myself just about as depressed and despairing for the future of this country as I think I have ever been.

corp. America. It's an illusion that they represent, "We the people." If they did, many problems would go away, but they prefer a ton of money instead. They who pay most get their way. Many days I feel like I'm in a huge casino and the future is just a gamble, a roll of the dice. How anyone can respect most of these politicians is beyond me.

They were stretched out all the way to the Washington Monument, assembled in a moment of joy. Behind the photographer is that whorehouse called the US Capitol. There's no reason all those people can't be assembled AGAIN in front of the Capitol in a moment of anger.

One man has only to invite them. They would come. I would be there.

Yeah, they'd call him "Hugo Chavez", a dangerous shit-disturber, and they'd accuse him of being a Muslim Kenyan Socialist - but they do that already. Let it be FOR something.

Who knows what those politicians might do if they think it'll get them re-elected?

it is all the more important to re-elect Obama and give him back the House and a filibuster proof Senate.

It is critical that Obama remain President because there might be some SCOTUS judges retiring during the next term. We must get control back on SCOTUS or the Repugs and their mission will hurt this country for decades to come. If a Repug was to win the Presidency - it is all over for us - we will have lost all.

This is the most critical election -2012- in our lifetime. We really need to take this one seriously.

it will be shot down by the Repug House and even if something makes it to the Senate by some slim chance - it will be filibustered and stopped there.

Obama's and our only hope is that he wins a second term resoundingly and takes back the House and maintains the Senate. Then we might have a chance to pass a Healthcare bill that will pass muster with all of us here at DU and make the American people proud.

YES! EXACTLY!!

Plus...let's make it a filibuster proof, Democratically controlled Senate!
