.. you are REQUIRED to pay for something that some people don't want. I don't agree with that train of thought, but think with the GOP mind here.

With Social Security the only people that profit from it are either the administrators through their salary and the people drawing from it.

With the for profit insurance industry people having nothing to do with the administration of this endeavor will profit, it becomes a government mandated Casino for stockholders and other forms of playing the market.

That's where this line of thought leads.

I would absolutely be opposed to a bill that required me to give part of my pay to Wall Street to invest for my retirement while they were pulling multi-million dollar bonuses. We have representation when it comes to regulating SS administrators. We have almost no control over Blue Cross Blue Shield and how they run their business.

It is actually enumerated and no stipulation that you only be taxed for things you want to pay for. It really isn't the same thing at all.

The general fund is not our after tax dollars or our pockets.
