Speaking at the Pastor for Life Luncheon, which was sponsored by Pro-Life Mississippi, Chief Justice Roy Moore of the Alabama Supreme Court declared that the First Amendment only applies to Christians because “Buddha didn’t create us, Mohammed didn’t create us, it was the God of the Holy Scriptures” who created us.

“They didn’t bring the Koran over on the pilgrim ship,” he continued. “Let’s get real, let’s go back and learn our history. Let’s stop playing games.”

But I'm sure that line played well in AL where the people there elected him to the justice system from which he was removed. Removed because he refused to follow the US Constitution and SCOTUS decisions. IDIOT, and every person who voted for him is an IDIOT and every person who didn't get off their asses and vote for a different candidate to prevent his becoming a "justice" is just as big an IDIOT too.

5. That's an interesting question actually.

I learned in Southern Baptist Church that Jesus was the Son of God. The whole trinity thing is confusing though. Holy Trinity is "God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost (Spirit).

Jesus is portrayed as divine in Christian tradition in a way that neither The Buddha or Mohammed are portrayed in their traditions.

Of course, there is debate about all of this and I do not pretend to be any sort of authority on the subject. My only intention was to point out that Moore is ignorant of the basic facts of other religions.

Muslims believe in the Old Testament stories but, as I understand it, believe errors have crept into them over the centuries. That's a much more rational point of view than the evangelicals'. So they never said Mohammad was our creator and to use that in his argument is fallacious. Rather poor for and attorney and state supreme court justice. However, it's clear to me Moore doesn't really give a flip about facts.

The majority of the Founding Fathers were not Christians in any tradition Mr. Moore would recognize. They were Deists....

Note the use of Laws of Nature and Nature's God and the word Creator. Nowhere is there any reference to God, Christ, Jesus or anything similar. The Founding Fathers who prevailed in the creation of these momentous documents were not Christians in the mold of Mr. Moore or his ilk.

The Preamble to the Constitution.....
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence,[note 1] promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

I see no reference to God, Jesus, the Christ or anything here.

Mr. Moore has created a fantasy world in which the Founding Fathers were fundamentalist Southern Baptists. They weren't. We know that these were learned men, men of the Enlightenment, who were committed to the laws of Nature. They did not reject the notion of a Supreme Being, a Creator, but in no public document did they ever refer to "God", Jesus, the Christ, etc.

So if there is someone who is kidding himself it is Mr. Moore.
