-clip- Gov. Steve Beshear's lawyers say Kentucky's ban on gay marriage should be retained because only "man-woman" couples can naturally procreate and the state has an interest in ensuring that they do.
Appealing a federal judge's decision that the state's ban on recognizing gay marriages violates the constitutional guarantee of equal protection under the law, Beshear's hired counsel say Kentucky has a legitimate interest in encouraging procreation to support "long-term economic stability through stable birth rates."-clip-

(2,315 posts)If his official legal position is that straights won't have intercourse because gays marry, then he needs to be labeled as somewhat delusional. Democrat or not, his policy is perfectly repugnant and very Teapublican.

(1,290 posts)You see, I just wanted some equal rights at first. But now I know that me having equal rights will turn the entire state gay and cause our population to die off, which of course I'm not in favor of. So I'm super glad that my tax dollars are being spent to reveal this massive problem!
I'm also curious as to why Massachusetts hasn't disappeared in the last decade, but maybe it takes a while for this to kick in.
