If Jeb Crow Shrub runs he will crash into his party's base, uncensored in item #2/below:

.... When Trump mentioned former Florida governor Jeb Bush, who has been mentioned as a possible moderate Republican presidential candidate, the audience loudly booed and groaned. The boos crescendoed when he mentioned Bush's comment that people who illegally immigrated to the United States may have “broke the law, but it’s not a felony. It’s an act of love.” ....

After this reception, Business Insider went so far as to characterize Bush as conservatives' "Public Enemy #1:" ....

“He’s pro-amnesty, pro-Common Core, pro-Big Business & he wants to be president,” Michelle Malkin tweeted on Monday. On NewsMax TV, former Rep. Allen West called Bush an “elitist” and said his immigration comments were “disrespectful to the American people.” And national radio talk show host Mark Levin has called the prospect of another Bush presidency “extremely unhealthy for the Republic.” ....

Whether or not Jeb Bush manages to mollify a Republican base virulently out of step with the rest of the country, the fact is that Democrats couldn't ask for a better opportunity to remind the public--over and over again--of the pain and damage that eight years of his brother's malfeasance wreaked on all of us. It would also have the virtue of being a good history lesson for a younger demographic grown perhaps too accustomed to living with a President who actually cares about the American people. While for Jeb, the entire tortuous campaign would be spent explaining--over and over again--point after point, policy after policy--why he wouldn't be following his brother's lead. With two failed wars and the near-complete destruction of the economy to work with, Dick Cheney himself couldn't have devised a more debilitating form of political torture. ....

3. Maybe, but my view is the ones who determine elections are the so-called middle of the read people,

and they will be selling jeb bush as a "moderate". I think the RNC handlers are trying to distance themselves from the tea baggers

Just look at what jeb has been doing, he isn't saying things to appeal to tea baggers, he is saying thing that he thinks appeal to the so-called "moderates"

The Democrats just have to keep their eye on the ball. When jeb says he is for women's rights, the Democrats need to point out that it was the Supreme Court justices that the bush family appointed that overruled the Lilly Ledbetter verdict, Equal Pay for Equal Work

The Democrats have to also point out how jeb defended the w's administration as recently as the republican convention, and point out just what a disaster that administration was

We saw how that worked out.

Similar to a large portion of the left being against Hillary.

5. OMG @ Item 2! So much pent-up anger and hatred!

You can feel the frustration coming off the page! Those are some petty, pissed-off, and disappointed losers in that crowd....and they don't even like the crazies, like Paul Ryan--apparently no one is sufficiently conservative for them!

6. Contrast that to those of us on the left who don't want Hillary Clinton

The reaction would be "Aw shit!" and we'd just go vote for her on election day. Anything else is unthinkable.

9. Indeed. I also was taken aback at the rather virulent sexism on that blog.

Why do I get the sense that the fellers writing that thing couldn't get a date with Barry White's voice at the Academy for the Blind? They are much too concerned about who is hot and who is not....excoriating Jeb Bush for his wife's APPEARANCE (not the fact that she runs home to Mexico and barely is around, or that she cheats at Customs) and drooling over "Bristol Palin" while passing judgment on her ex-husband's new bride, like they're the Flo Ziegfeld of the internet, or something!

If they've got time to do that kind of stuff on the weekend, they're obviously not out having a good time...which, I suppose, explains all that pent-up anger and frustration!

7. If the Dem candidate were to lose, Jeb is the best option.

Yea, we'll hate his policies. But he'd be FAR preferable to a Pres Cruz, Perry, Walker, Christie, Ryan, or Paul. IMO, Clinton can beat any of them, inc Jeb. And if a Dem were able to beat Clinton in the primaries, they'd likely do just as well. But, in case the unexpected happens, Jeb would be much better POTUS than the other GOP contenders.

Yea, he sucked. But he didn't suck as bad as Rick Scott, and he wouldn't suck as bad as the other wacko GOP contenders. Economically and Foreign Policy, he'd barely be to the right of Obama. Social issues, yea he'd be pretty far right. Still, he's not an intellectual lightweight like Cruz, Perry, or Ryan. And he's not as corrupt as Walker or Christie. We wouldn't like him, but we'd survive.
