Borowitz report - G.O.P.: Evil Mastermind Behind Benghazi Is Frail Old Woman With Brain Damage

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is an evil genius capable of masterminding the most elaborate cover-up in U.S. history and is also a frail old woman with brain damage, leading Republicans charged on Sunday.

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus led the attack while appearing on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” where he said that the American people should be wary of electing a woman who is capable of orchestrating the complex conspiracy to whitewash Benghazi while, at the same time, being too old, feeble, and brain damaged to serve in the Oval Office.

“These two aspects of Secretary Clinton would have me very concerned,” he said.

Mr. Priebus said he saw “no contradiction” between the portrayals of Secretary Clinton as an evil mastermind and a brain-damaged crone, explaining, “The one part of Secretary Clinton’s brain that works perfectly well is the part that creates elaborate cover-ups, and that is the part of her brain that is currently covering up the fact that she is brain damaged.”

The R.N.C. chairman said he was confident that once the American people realized Secretary Clinton is both an evil mastermind and a frail old woman with brain damage, they would reject her at the ballot box.

“The one thing the American people will not tolerate is double-talk,” he said.

When the right-wingers want to discredit you, they use the same process that promotes racism. They single you out and then they dehumanize you. And then they demonize you.

And their kind just keep on eating it up. I have many issues with Hillary's neo-liberal, pro-corporate agenda, but they should be discussed on their merits. Not all this bullshit that scores easy points for right-wingers among their constituents. It just gets in the way of an honest debate.

Sometimes I just can't believe the incredible hypocrisy that comes from the right. I've lost count of how many times some jackass on the right accused someone on the left of doing exactly what they are doing AS THE WORDS COME OUT OF THEIR MOUTH!
Well, Mr. Priebus, what I'm sick of tolerating is people like you insulting my intelligence by assuming I'm as stupid as you are and can't detect your oh-so-obvious hypocrisy.
First she was faking her injury to avoid the hearing, now she's suffering serious brain damage from the same fake injury. One minute she's deliberately incompetent the next she's some kind of Bond villain mastermind. Afraid much, GOP?
Every time they come out with this stuff I think back to the results of a study I read about a couple of years ago about the difference between conservative and liberal brains that showed more conservative people are more likely to respond to and act on fear. In fact, I'm sure that's a fundamental difference - those motivated by fear go for conservative values; the more courageous and able to face your fears you are, the more likely you are to be liberal.

demagoguery on the right is always explained away as 'it's just a joke' when called out on it. But it really isn't, it's planting a seed in the listeners.

Really nothing funny about the way the GOP (R-Reptilian) brain works. These accusations have been made before in RWNJ rags, but never as satire. Instead, it will be sold as TheTruth©!

Otherwise, we need a new - NOT satire - label for things said or done that seem like they are hard to believe as real.

If Hillary runs I will certainly vote for her. I'd rather plunge a hot poker in my eye than vote for a Rethug.

However, if Christie manages to run his obesity and health are certainly concerns that need to be discussed. He is arguably morbidly obese even though he has lost a great deal of weight. Can he keep that down under the stress the President must endure? Can he manage to continue using the treadmill as often as he is now given the demanding schedule of the President? It's a 24/7/365 job. No real days off no matter where and when you are. He clearly has a "food addiction" IMHO. Addicts don't do well in times of stress.

We can't have it both ways so we need a real plan for the issue. Rove is just floating the trial balloon and will keep doing so.

Hillary has two courses of action I think.

One: Don't' release her records in the same way Mitt wouldn't release his tax records. The downside to this is obvious but may be able to be overcome.
Two: Confront the allegations and release her records and have the GOP parade a bunch of doctors who say her health makes her unsuitable for office. None of whom really cared when St. Reagan was clearly suffering from Alzheimer's/Dementia. Or that dry-drunk W. showed his ass on more than one occasion. We don't need another "show us your long-form birth certificate" bunch of crap.

I'm not sure which way to go since I'm not a doctor and don't have access to her records. That's the key. What is in them and how can it be spun by the spin-meisters at FAUX and elsewhere?

Before then, the best way to handle the allegation is for her to continue doing what she has been doing. When people see her speaking at length on any topic of interest or answering questions, it will quickly be obvious that she clearly has NO "brain damage".

In fact, she should point to the - I think - SEVEN HOURS answering questions on Benghazi. This was both something that would be grueling for anyone and it was no more than 2 months after the concussion. If there were no problems then, it is very hard to believe they exist now.

As to records, we KNOW how the right processes them -
- Kerry, who had ALL his (very positive) fitness reports from Vietnam on line was said to have hidden "other" things - like a (non existent) dishonorable discharge. How did they know? - well, everything he put out was positive - how could that be?

- Obama, who had the birth certificate that all people from HI have AND copies of the archived HOSPITAL generated birth announcement in the Honolulu paper was said to have faked that and that there had to be a long form.

Here, no matter what HRC's doctors put out, the right will claim that they hid some supersecret result that showed major problems that somehow don't impair her ability to run a campaign!

The good thing is that just by being competent - something she always is, she convinces the majority of voters that this is nonsense.

Perhaps we should contrast Hillary with people like W. and Perry (mr. oops).

An ad or several that contrast her very reasonable, well-founded statements against the "OOPs" and Bushisms like "I know how hard it is to put food on your family" and "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?"

All proffered in his best Connecticut/Texas drawl.
