I've worked with physicians on and off throughout my life and sometimes I'm just gobsmacked by the stupidity and ignorance on outside topics. Even common sense seems to be missing a lot of the time.

From the article:

I found out two important things: First, bestiality is particularly abhorrent in the gay community and the mention of it evokes a very emotional response.

What does he mean that bestiality is "particularly" abhorrent "in" the gay community. He makes it sound as though this is something that actually goes on in the gay community and that we are all especially ashamed about it and our backs go up if someone mentions it. Is that what he is actually trying to say? Or is this guy--despite being a doctor--really that inarticulate. Part of me wants to think that he was actually trying to say that he learned that gays are especially insulted by the comparison because some wingnut is always bringing it up, but with this guy I really don't know.
