It expands to full length when you use it and contracts when you don't.

So, yes, it stores in a smaller place than a regular hose.
When not in use.

But, prior to that I almost used a 20% off at BB&Beyond on impulse...

Good on you for warning others. I'll just continue to fight with my old heavy (and heavy-duty) standard hose...

strong. I think they will outlast me! About the only thing I've done to them is to replace the ends, I ran over a couple with my car. I replaced them with really solid and heavy high quality brass ends, well worth it.

They have been running a new infomercial for their heavy duty model with brass fittings etc. I was considering breaking down and getting one for the front yard. My standard hose always manages to find itself in the middle of my flower bed when I try to water my hanging baskets. I'll skip what I always thought would be a flimsy product and make more of an effort to lay my hose out rather than dragging it.

The ONLY layer appears to be a dacron/nylon or whatever tube.

the company apparently heard an earful about it, and they have redesigned it. They're touting it as "3 times stronger!" Take that with the requisite grain of salt, however, the new one we bought so far hasn't had any issues.

Hose and solid brass couplings. There's only one hose bib on my house, and that hose reaches my entire yard. I've been using it now for 10 years. It never kinks, and is fed by a 3/4" pipe and faucet. Massive output and it doesn't flinch if you drive a car over it.

Worth every penny of its price.

POW! it was impressive. i just wish there was a good lightweight hose... my little girls love to garden with us and watering is one of those things they love to do... but those big bulky heavy hoses are too much for the littlest ones...

oh well...

Looked like a good product, the price was right and I needed some more hoses so I bought two of um.

Ran one from the well to the horse trough and the other one to our veggie garden which has gotten pretty big lately. Big mistake.

Within a month both hoses blew out. Right at the place where the expanding hose joins the end fittings. Then I heard they were replacing the plastic fittings with brass. Well, whoopee fuckin doo. They could make them out of platinum and the hose would still be a piece of crap if they failed to attach the hose to the fittings properly.

Anyway, fool me once, shame on er, uh, you. Fool me twice, um, er, uh, won't git fooled again, heh, heh. (that's an ol' saying we have in Texas, probably in Tennessee).

because I've heard the materials involved are toxic to humans, so it can't possibly be good for vegetables or animals!

She still hasn't used it.

I use my plain old 75 ft. garden hose every day to water my vegetable plants and ... it works just fine.
