I don't even have a teeVee but I care a great deal about the voices in media, and is why i enjoy DU, too. as it is a great news aggregator.

I would imagine most DU'ers are like me in that regard.

I'm going to miss him, especially during this campaign season.

As far as other DU'ers go, he has a lot of fans. The boo-bears are making their presence known since he's been fired.

Ed is pleading for justice.

So, don't really care. Someday there will be a theory out as to why he was fired, I can wait for it. I think KO should go and get his own station though, so he can't keep getting fired for whatever reason.

What behavior specifically do you consider "assholish?"

What he says on the air and on the Internet has his real name attached to it. And, as far as I know, he has always factually verified the behavior of people he has publicly criticized.

I like Olbermann, liked his Current show better than the MSNBC show because it wasn't noisy and annoying, it was more relaxed and more thoughtful. His ego doesn't bother me in the least. Show culture is like that and the same ego that can be irritating is also what drives the creativity. Keith is a good guy and I hope he puts something together soon.

Brilliance often comes at a price unfortunately. I dearly love Keith and I wish he'd get his ego under control, for everyone's sake. We need all hands on deck especially in an election year. I am majorly bummed. Al Gore must have been awfully unhappy to sever ties this way.

because in the case of NBC the issue was their problem with what he was reporting.

with Current i think it has more to do with him wanting them to spend more on things like the set and him taking too much time off and other issues that don't really have to do with what he is reporting.

i hope he turns up on tv again. he seemed ok at NBC with Tim Russert at the top and Russert wasn't some liberal so i think with the right person he will be ok.

Because I miss his voice on air, however, there continues to be a troubling pattern of bridge burning throughout his career. Fox Sports, burned; Comcast/MSNBC, burned twice; ABC/ESPN, burned; Current, burned; I think he left CNN on good terms, but they will not touch him now, the only major player he has not worked for is CBS. Al-Jazeera and RT will not either, plus neither has carriage even at current's level. His best bet is to take some time off the air, do a podcast in the interim, migrate to POTUS on Sirius/XM, or better, go back to sports. He may have an out with MLB Network or TBS in Baseball.

KO has shown he can't work and play well with others. While I like what he has to say, he has a problem holding on to a job. It doesn't mean I don't like him. But it's his problem.

I feel the same about Randi Rhodes and her huge ego.

Whatever went down between them doesn't change that.

I'm not interested in taking sides, but do hope this come to an amicable conclusion.
