On the heels of yet another tragedy...I wonder

On the heels of yet another tragedy...I wonder how have I lived without guns for 63 years? And who is the next innocent to be outright slain because Congress fails to act for fully 90% of the population.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/wp/2013/04/03/90-percent-of-americans-want-expanded-background-checks-on-guns-why-isnt-this-a-political-slam-dunk/
I have never wanted to shoot, never wanted a gun. My dad and his brothers and one of my brothers has / had guns...for hunting. You know, 12 gauge shotguns. Not 100 round automatics. Yet I see no end to endless killing, and wonder what it finally will take to see a return to common sense in the gun debate. Other Nations do not have this problem yet I am positive that they have rabid gun 'enthusiasts', as do we here in the U.S.
Guess I just needed to vent, as I see nothing ...a veritable wasteland..in our Congress, and therefore, no talk about sanity in the gun issue. Need no replies, thanks. Just needed to vent.

I sit in shock that I live in a society that considers the registration of weapons as a major violation of privacy while they call for "registration" of people with mental illness as just and necessary.

WTF?
