This was posted on Mother Jones before the UCSB massacres: Spitting, Stalking, Rape Threats, How Gun Extremists Target Women. There have been stories posted here about open carry advocates in Texas and elsewhere carrying their guns into public places to intimidate people; that bullying behavior has been extended:

A major target for these people is the grassroots organization: Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, formed after Sandy Hook. Catch this brave 'Second Amendment advocate's' Mothers' Day message:
There's even more misogyny, like using a female mannequin as a "mad minute" target:
Hate talk radio host Alex Jones has gotten into the act:
Read on to find out how he tried to intimidate a parent who lost his daughter in the 2012 Aurora theater shooting.

I want to thank you for all your support the last few days. I have been working and not always able to get back to the threads. Yet, I thank you.
Gawd, I think I need a break from this place.

(3,145 posts)Poo-poohing shooting a female mannequin and how Open Carry Texas publicized the name of the woman who called police on these nuts. Funny how they didn't go after the two men who also called police.
If that's being liberal then count me out.

That sick laughter at 9:41 from this guy over a reporter writing about being heartbroken watching Chris Martinez's dad speak about his son, just makes me shudder.

(15,429 posts)the public face of gun ownership. If anybody is capable of convincing a large majority of the American people it is time to round up all of the guns, it will be these assholes.
It's just like how the Westboro Baptist Church became the face of the anti-LGBT movement, and we saw how quickly attitudes about the LGBT community have changed since.

(323 posts)There is no quantity of responsible gun owners great enough, to counter the public image of extreme dumbassery currently being demonstrated by these groups.
The NRA and Rod & Gun Clubs of my fathers generation are history.

(22,000 posts)I have to share what happened on Facebook earlier today. One of my dear friends is from Sweden and he is very much supports gun control. He posted a picture taken during the segregation period in the US with no comment. One of the persons he is friends with (and used to be on my friends list before I kicked her off my list because of her sick attitude) started on this long rant about Sweden and how bad the sexual violence there is and they helped the Nazi's and blah blah blah and they has no right lecturing the US and called him and asshat. This guy (who is very kind) went off on her and I don't blame him. She and her husband are both Libertarian gunhumper who hate Obama and think he is the anti-christ. After I kicked her off my list she apologized to me and then attempted to friend me again and I just flat out refused to accept.
