(4,631 posts)Most cars are registered. No one can buy a car without it being registered. How many unregistered cars are there.
If only criminals have guns, they use them against each other.

(16,974 posts)a car used on your on property, only if used on public roads. If I register my gun like a car will it be lawful to use in all 50 states and all cities? Can I sell my gun across state lines without a background check to a private individual like a car?

(1,036 posts)If it is on my property I can modify it however I like. I can take the seat belts out of it, take off the exhaust, cut off the top and take out the windows, bolt a chair to it and drive it around with someone in the chair ... I can do anything with it.
So, if we treat guns the same way?? Sawed off shotgun is now legal? Can I convert that semi to full?
Dumb ideas by people who have no clue.
Guns ARE heavily regulated.
Cars ARE NOT regulated at all, only have standards to pass to operate on public roads.

(82,383 posts)Even here, you will likely find most gun uses between criminals. Even with the drive by and mass shootings. Probably because of the drug prohibition, which increases violence amongst criminals.

(39,171 posts)think about it:
1. Simple test that 95% of the population can pass
2. No criminal background check to get a license
3. No wait to get a license
4. License is good in every state
5. You can get a license at 16 and a half years old.
As for registration, cars are only registered if they are driven on public roads - you do not have to register cars if they do not leave your property. That would mean guns would only have to be registered if they are carried in public - a concealed carry license should cover that requirement.
