You might want to follow the Matt DeHart case

DUer bemildred recently linked to a five-part National Post series on the case -- and it's a strange case

Matthew is the son of Paul DeHart, a former Air Force major who later became pastor of the unaffiliated Newburgh IN Church of Christ. Paul apparently did signals intelligence work with the NSA and appears to be rather conservative: for example, he was quoted in a news article (about a Focus on the Family event opposing divorce and gay marriage) as saying “If we don’t stand for God’s principles in our society, who will?” and “Christians make the best citizens”

Matt was arrested in Maine in August 2010 on child pornography charges. He had earlier been discharged from the Air National Guard for psychological problems. He claims the pornography charges are a smoke-screeb and that the US government actually targeted him due to his connections with Anonymous. He is currently in Canada, hoping to obtain political asylum there; his case includes allegations of drugging by US agents. His hearing this week was postponed when he collapsed in court, apparently from psychiatric medications administered in jail

But from beginning to end it's a long strange trip. Matthew claims that in 2009 he discovered documents of an FBI investigation of the CIA had been uploaded onto the server in his bedroom. In 2010, his father apparently drove him to DC so that he could defect to Russia; his offer to work full time for the Russians was rejected. He then moved to Canada. He says he was drugged and tortured when crossing border back into the US to handle visa issues. Pornography charges were filed at some point. He was released on bail in 2012. In 2013, his father drove him from Indiana to Canada, where he requested asylum. He was then arrested in Canada as a foreign national “engaging in an act of espionage .. contrary to Canada’s interests”
