(4,423 posts)Somebody at my job who is typically not politically vocal and who just can't figure out why Obama let 5 of the top tier Taliban leadership go at any price just said this..... "What if we injected those Taliban leaders with tracking chips and are waiting for them to get back to their leaders i.e. Mullah Omar and we will target with a Drone?

(6,644 posts)I,too, am livid. I was raised in the military and having retired officers, even if they are retired, saying all these things about a sitting president just goes against everything we were taught as military dependents. Military and their dependents are not supposed to comment on such stuff and it is giving me high blood pressure.

Finally, Stewart took on the uncalled for personal attacks from nearly everyone at Fox leveled at Robert Bergdahl, from Bill OReillys suggestion that there was something sinister in his having learned to speak Pashto in order to communicate with his sons captors, to Brian Kilmeades inexcusable remarks concerning his beard.
He says he was growing his beard because his son was in captivity, said the smug Kilmeade, well your sons out now, so if you really dont no longer want to look like a member of the Taliban you dont have to look like a member of the Taliban. Are you out of razors?
Well that got ugly pretty fast, Jon observed. First of all who the f*** are you to judge what a guy does if he thinks it might help him get his son back and I dont want to complicate your hatred of facial hair there, my friend, but my guess is if you gave Bob Berg-doll a bandana and a duck, youd like him just f***ing fine.

(85 posts)There is one true and unambiguous patriot here - President Obama.
The nay-sayers and fear mongerers display a distinctly un-American,
disloyal and cowardly attitude.
Thank you Mr. President for keeping a clear head and steering the correct and courageous course.

(81,466 posts)Glad you're here! LOVE your "Momma Grizzly" cartoon! EXCELLENT!!! These assholes ARE INDEED giving aid and comfort to the enemy. Just because there's a black guy in the Oval Office and he isn't the janitor!!!! HORRORS!!! TERRORISM!!!! Or my absolute favorite question-in-the-full-throes-of-hissyfit (that was put directly to me by somebody in an email chain who didn't like my objections to the Iraq War): "WHERE WERE YOU 9/11????!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!"
I still love that one to pieces! "WHERE WERE YOU 9/11??????!?!?!!?!?!" Where was I 9/11? Um - did somebody forget a preposition there? Could it have been "WHERE WERE YOU ON 9/11??" Or maybe "WHERE WERE YOU FOR 9/11?" Or "WHERE WERE YOU ABOUT 9/11?" Or "WHERE WERE YOU BEHIND 9/11?"Or maybe "WHERE WERE YOU OVER, UNDER, AROUND AND THROUGH 9/11?"
I actually wrote back to this bozo and told him "where I was 9/11." First, "where was I 9/11" was comforting my neighbor across the street whose kid went to school with mine, and so we carpooled. And she was literally beside herself in sheer panic, because she'd taken that same Boston-to-L.A. flight a couple of days earlier, for her work, and she was in full freak-out mode and totally unable to drive. Because the school had just called and announced it was closed for the day and everybody who just dropped their kids off should come back and pick 'em up. So "where was I 9/11" drove, with her still in the middle of a serious panic-attack in the passenger seat, to pick our three kids up and bring 'em home. And then a few hours later, "where was I 9/11" was working with another mom whose son was my son's best friend and they were Cub Scouts together, and she wanted to do a fundraiser for the 9/11 survivors and victims' families so we went out and bought a slew of little flag pins to sell to raise donations - which we then arranged to turn over to the Red Cross (as so many efforts immediately after that horrid event were doing). That's where "where was I 9/11" actually WAS, on 9/11.
DEAR GOD, sometimes I just simply have NO patience with these moran jerks.
And I got NO response to that, btw.

(85 posts)Thank you for the encouraging words.
Actually, the Bergdahl cartoon wasn't meant to be really funny - just to expose the "chicken-hawks"
for what they are.
If you go to my home page http://stuartsdesk.com
and click (in upper left corner} on "Tea Party Tales" and also "Oldies But Goodies"
you will find more original cartoons which (I believe) are really funny.
The "Oldies but Goodies" page currently recounts Paul Ryan's craziness.
Let me know if you liked any of these and if so, please pass on my website address
to your DR friends.

(85 posts)Thanks Napkinz. But I seem unable to post images.
A while back another DU person told me that I had to accumulate 100 postings
before I was allowed to post an image. Do you know if that is correct?
I do intend to post my cartoons in the future, but I still have a way to go on postings
to reach 100.
I don't like to put up silly, short postings with little content, so it may take some time.
If you see any of my cartoons, new or old, that you like, please feel free to post and
if possible, reference my web site at http://www.stuartsdesk.com
(Check out "Tea Party Tales" and "Oldies But Goodies" at upper left of the home page.
Many thanks.
